A better manager than people gave him credit for. Whilst the England job was too big for him, he did great work at Watford and Aston Villa. And a good bloke.

To all the clubs around the world who have family terraces where more women and children attend your matches - Graham is the man that started this. The youngest man ever to have his FA coaching badges. The manager who in 4 seasons at Lincoln put them in the black and runaway winners of Div 4, then did the same at Watford taken them to the Div 1, then took Villa from Div 2 to Div 1, in his first season then went back to Watford now in tier 3 and back to back promotions to the PL. Inside 2 months of Watford’s promotion to Div 1 Watford 8 Sunderland 0. Still the press criticised his style of play - based upon where goals are scored - oddly in and around the penalty area from 3 or less passes. He knew football, he knew finances, he knew business organisation and he knew people.
