Thanks for this video, interesting and informative. Bringing light back to the selector windows, works so well. I've always wanted a Syncal 30 but have never found one at a sensible price.
I've been using a PRC 320 Clansman for last 10 years doing SOTA. 11kg but rides comfortably on the back and ancillary bag on chest. Gives me 30 watts at summit. You did well with 2 watts! Cheers VE1PVH always /P
The backpack for the prc320 is very well designed. Thin and compact. I think it is much better than the one ai used, aa harris one. 🙌

Great video, great radio! I have a 2ES civilian version. Pretty sure Mobat changed the control head to a milspec unit and added the speaker, otherwise the UI is the same. Love these bulletproof radios.

Nicely done! I owned several of them and admired the build and features. Sadly, my batteries no longer charged, and I never found the AA holder would work for my needs. 73!

@@harrymartin1661 hi Harry! You toggle to CW mode. There is a switch for that. Then there is a dedicated keyer button. I have never used it for cw though Cheers

Vale, el audio no funcionaba. Voy a programar un reinicio del sistema cada dia a las 6 am o asi. Se ve que la raspberry no es muy fisble y a veces el driver deja de funcionar

Everyone I worked with there pronounced the company's name as ""TAL is" or "THAL is" even though people pronounce the name of the Greek Philosopher Thales differently. Racal Electronics was British company purchased by Thomson-CFE in 2000 and became part of the "Thales Group." The network company VODAFONE was split off from Racal before in 1991 and is still in business.

The RF-5800 is a great radio as is most radios manufctured by Harris.
Well done! I'm surprised that LDG hasn't done this. Nevertheless, I have rhe little budget trusdx and opted to keep both for conventional batteries for two reasons: The AA batteries are found everywhere, and no problems with air travel with them as opposed to lithium.
I am sorry that you got scammed. Even if you find a picture on search, what's to keep the scammers from taking an old pic, and just altering that? Every transaction is unfortunately a trust model. I see many radio scams on eham so while I would certainly like to buy a used radio (really the only thing I can afford) I don't buy one. 73 DE W8LV BILL
