It’s a lesson in discipline to carry and use one blade for a month… but a year? You’re a man among men. I like that Buck offers the 110 in magnacut now.
I have one of these Alaska Guide 110's. I must agree. It is an outstanding knife and a bargain to boot. (At least it was a bargain when I got mine several years ago.) The 110 is timeless, and for good reason.
What was the cause of Death. Does anyone know ? 💔🥺
My dad has always carried a trapper knife. Which made me carry one for years. My favorite was the lock blade trapper from case, the single blade one
Nice review. I ordered myself one of these from the Shepherd Hills website. I have the peanut from the same line and it's great. Now I want to carry something with three blades! I also prefer that blade finish over the mirror polish that's on most of their other lines. When I open delivery boxes it seems harder to wipe away tape residue off the polished blades.
@@nolanwebster1039 I'll hope it is your companion for a long long time
@sixgunslingin, it just arrived and it's a keeper for sure. One thing I noticed is that in current production they now assemble them with two brass liners between the springs to help the blades fit better.
The 112 was my first Buck knife.
@@Denman500. did you get one of the original ones ? Do you still have it

Great knife that's all you need
@@BaxtersBlades it's pretty good I like pocket clips and everything but this knife is everything you need and nothing you don't
I think i have seen where buck added a extra layer of brass liner to one side and maybe an extra in the middle to give it slightly more width and one side of the blade was completely flat to accomodate the other blade next to it without bending the blades to fit??
@@markeslinger7051 yes this one was made by Camillus New York before buck started making their own. There was a couple of different configurations
Thank You for replying to my comment. One thing I should have mentioned is after all years & usage, the hinge & blade lock is as tight as the day I got it. I also made a modification to it. I machined the point off to a slight angle because of all the kids around while doing Tote & Chip. Turns out after machining a bevel on the front, it's a pretty good gasket scraper & wood chisel. LoL
Great Video !!! In 1973 my wife gave me a 110 our first Christmas. I carried & used it every day for fifty years. It's been in every weather condition. I do a lot of camping. It helped issue numerous Boy Scout Tote & Chips. I used it to process wood, cooking & every other function you can think of camping. I'm an electrician & my 110 has stripped is fair share of electrical wires & cable as well. No job is to big for a 110. Around my 70th birthday, July 2022, I decided to retire my 110 on its fiftieth anniversary, for fear of loosing it because In my mind, it's now a family heirloom. So I told my wife that I was going to retire it on our last camping trip of the year which is the second week of December 2023. For my 70th birthday she gave me a new 110 with the s30v steel & it's engraved Happy 70th !!! Needless to say I used it once camping & it's in the heirloom box with my fifty year old 110. I got a 112 Ranger s30v I now carry on camping trips. It's not much smaller than a 110 & every bit as rugged as the 110. I'm retired now & for my EDC I carry a smaller Leatherman skeletool CX. FYI along with my 110, back in those days my EDC with the 110 was a pair of Klein 2300 Scissors, & mini AA Mag Lite. Thank You -- Joe --
@@joecat339 man I love hearing stories like this that is great there is a lot of Legend in these old things
Funny enough, I am looking at the same tools but starting from the opposite direction! I carry a Skeletool CX (and feel naked when I don't have it) but I am serioulsly looking at the 110. Obviously the 110 won't replace the CX but it will be a great fancy robust addition! And also something to remember my great grand father: last knife he bought was a Kershaw Wildcat which is a japanese 110. The Kershaw is too precious to me but I wan't to make him proud and I can't find anything better than a Buck...
Puma used to make a nice 110 knockoff called the game warden when they were entirely made in Germany that I owned and carried for a while but the buck 110 is the legend
@@sixgunslingin ended up finding one on sale! In europe, seems only 420HC is available so thats what I got! Overall quite happy. Function is real smooth. Opened, that blade is rock solid, no play. But closed, the blade is way off center and has a fair amount of side to side play. My old japanese Kershaw is much better in that regard. The blade does not have the Bos treatment logo. Sheath is nice and solid though the leather has a plastiky feel to it.
@@zepedrofd they are all supposed to have the bos treatment I would call buck knives and there are videos on how to safely Center that knife blades
Had my Rat 2 AUS 8 for about 3 years now. A LOT of bang for the buck.

This is craftsman multitool, the rest of the multi tools are just too short, too brittle, and they don’t have both t-shank and bit driver. Some grinding and you can turn any bit or extender into heavy duty screw driver, because you can half open Surge and use half of it as a lever. Nothing is better for a working man. File is just amazing, detachable, you can use diamond side to sharpen its own blade. Unlimited modding thanks to t-shank and bit holder. 1000 tools in one. ARC is too expensive, misses tools and magnet is stupid, it will pull all kind of junk from pockets. For not blue collar people, blue or military, other stuff might be better. But

👍 Enjoyed your video. Great looking 110 you have. I love my Buck 110s! One of my 3 was originally a Cabela’s Alaskan Guide version that previous owner replaced the rosewood inlays with really nice looking stag horn - a beautiful knife. I agree with your assessment of these special run 110s. My other 2 are a special run dressed out by the 30 year Buck employee who manages their warranty department with a 5160 drop point and another special run with a Magnacut clip point blade.
The buck 110s are amazing. The alaskan guided series is epic!

I always loved watching his channel, he was such an interesting Guy.
I own 2 of the 3206 double lockback trappers and 1 3206 slip joint jumbo trapper. These are Bear & Sons builds for sure. Bought my father the 3206DLB for the ranches he works out in west Texas and he uses it everyday. The double lockback design is definitely unique. I’ve never seen anyone else carrying one.
@@_z0rrk you can tell by the serial number on the box mine was made by Utica as I confirm this by calling them they said that bear and son built some of their less expensive models case even make some of their knives I know they make the plain white handle trappers with a C in front of the serial number. I have not heard that story before! I have a 112 from about 2018 and I feel the quality is inferior to my 110 two dot? I would still recommend it though.
@@Mike-kc8rl yes that is what happened that's why a lot of old-time guys don't like the 112 because they think it's a form of control I like them
@sixgunslingin Yes, that's how it is here in the UK now! It's getting harder to even justify carrying a swiss army knife!
I purchased one of these a few years ago after watching an episode of Columbo with William Shatner using one to cut up a jacket! I got two, one was a 110 two dot from around 1980?? The other was a Schrade version from the same seller on ebay here in the UK before all our knife laws went viral! Obviously, I can't carry it out and about but I do use it indoors! I believe the quality of the 110 has gone downhill over the years ,but still a great knife and a classic!
@@Mike-kc8rl that's a pretty cool story I did not see that the buck 110 has been on every show it seems from Yellowstone to Kill Bill
I found one of these here in the UK about three years ago! It has Champion on the main blade! It was in great shape. The back springs are almost black for some reason? I had no idea that Camillus made these! I was very impressed with these so I bought a 301 big brother model!
