    Just wanted to chime in - it’s also socially acceptable to brush your teeth after lunch at work (or anytime really) in the Philippines 😃 though maybe not at places you dine out at. This is a great video! Stuff creeping into my workbag or EDC has always been an issue, and it’s always good to assess every so often if you do need all that stuff or if you can carry smaller versions of them. I just saw a small pack of wipes at the supermarket that I’m trying out, as a big pack of wipes does get heavy. And cleaning out the bag every week is something we tend to forget but is actually important to keep on top of things! Thanks for sharing this video!

    A couple of years ago I bought a winter home in Florida and now split my time evenly between there and NYC. I have to admit that it was really tough coming back to NYC this year. My life in Florida is so carefree and chill and EASY. And I feel "sane" in Florida. I don't know anyone in NYC anymore. Everyone is so angry or trying too hard to be cool. The city is falling apart, yet, they keep voting for the same corrupt, incompetent leaders into office again and again. Everyone is smoking pot. It's just... not the NYC that I feel in love with many, many years ago.

    A couple of things here- I don’t think she’s a good fit for NYC. I’m from FL and have lived here for nine years. I moved here with $4k and will never leave. It’s definitely not for ppl uncomfortable with crime, homeless people, etc. All of that is known with NYC’s reputation, so she’s just learning that she’s not a good fit for the culture.

    One thing for sure is Manhattan doesn't represent all of what New York City is. There are actually some quiet streets and parks in the outer boroughs. Two people will be renting my room this coming July and August coming from Mexico. The girl was here three years ago and just can't wait to come back. But staying in a hotel would be too expensive. She said she does not care about the crazy people here she can ignore them.

    I'm Born and raised in NYC; Brooklyn & Queens, I have left NYC so many times and always came back during 1982 to 1991; because I love NYC, it will always be my home, I lived in other Cities in the USA and Abroad and I will say... Only the Strong Survives here in the Big Apple. No matter how much the City News love to advertise only the bad things in NYC, and never focus on good things I call it False Advertisement, but if you are not from NYC or born here, you will never see the good inside of the Bad Apple You go to move into any City[ give or take a few weeks or few months you will hear about or see it on your City News that City you just move to is no difference from NYC, you have a City filled with bad things probably worse...then you would wished that you never left NYC.

    • @YThates
      @YThates 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm from south brooklyn, I lovved california wayyyy more than NYC but it's been messed up. NYC hasn't quite gotten there yet. I hate NYC, I prefer the suburbs, the roads, the open clean air of other places. My neighborhood in BK is not loud, it's not expensive. But there are people who live in HOUSES in jersey, connecticut, long island, staten island that can get to manhattan faster than me. The MTA sucks. Getting to and from work takes too long for me, a person living in an apt in a mostly peaceful BK area, more than it does for people who don't even live the dream of living INSIDE nyc and it makes me sooo upset because the mta is always raising tolls and never fixed any problems they have. The hustle and grind culture is over-glamorized. I do not want to spend 18 hours of my day focused on getting ready for work, going to work, working, then coming home safely from work most of the days of the week when there's only 24 hrs in a day. One thing I as a native new yorker hates, is when nyc elitists come around saying that people who don't want to deal with hustle culture then it means they are too weak to survive in NYC. It's not about being weak, it's about wanting to invest your time and energy on more than just terrible transit, dealing with lackluster law enforcement and lackluster public transport and crazy people everywhere being pushed out of hospitals and jails to be on the streets randomly pushing ppl in train tracks and urinating everywhere. NYC is fun when you're young, or fun when you have A LOOOT of money. But it's not fun when you want stability while being middle class or lower. it's miserable, it's not great. And ofc the other class of people who have it decent here are the benefit moochers. The people who never work a job but always find some way to collect taxpayer money. We all know some of those people. I knew a woman who since her 20s never had to work because she just had 7 kids and had a relative working a civil service job in the welfare office. They got her hooked up on all kinds of benefits as much as your average nyc jewish family.

    NYC is not that dirty. I've been to plenty of cities in America and overseas which are far more dirty. NYC is only expensive because of rent and home prices. Besides that, it's fairly affordable. NYC has the largest Metro transit system in the world that runs 24 hrs. NYC Subway is also well designed. Yes Seoul transit is nice and clean, but the design to get from point A to B is freaking time consuming.
