Turning the light on learning with LEDs! Learning Experience Designers. Me gusta. Thank you for the insight. A bunch of the IDs I know all experienced this as well. You've got your finger on the pulse. About LMS, yes most job descriptions say "Experience with an LMS" but I can tell you from doing over 900 resumes and hundreds of interviews in the last 3 years to land my jobs, that in practice they want people who can, "hit the ground running." So, yes, build up your portfolio that's huge, but also, get some LMS experience. Moodle and Canvas is free to get experience with. But try to do a corporate LMS trial for a month and put that on your resume too. It makes a difference. The title is not entirely accurate, very little here is about the Case Study and most is about chumming it up and geeking out about ID lol. More about the program, the result, etc.

Interesting video! I just looked up some Systems Engineer job descriptions, and I saw terms like analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate again and again. So, a title change seems fitting. I’m curious about the list of subsystems mentioned. Dynamic systems have elements, interconnections, and purposes/functions. Also, they have flows, stocks, and feedback loops that determine behavior. Can all of these be pinpointed in the subsystems mentioned in this video? Can you give an example of one? Thanks!

Hello sir, thank you for the beautiful and meaningful video on how to do analysis and lead to design a successful online course as the new beginner of instructional design how can I know which theory or models I can use during my designing? And my second question is for instance already done analysis and knows my leaners have different kind of learning styles and the type of learners am dealing with are between 17-40 ages so where can I put different kinds of multimedia elements in order to make all of my learners comfortable during learning process?

    • @ID_Up

Hi! Thanks for tuning in! You've brought up a great topic for a future video! We will certainly address this soon so we can expand upon it in a thoughtful manner. In the meantime, be sure to check out Chuck’s book, linked in the description of this video. He goes into great detail about this topic. For now, we'd say look at the different models and determine what about them makes their approach stand out from the others for you. Also, always be sure to align the model you choose with your learning objectives. For the second part of your question, we suggest not to design learning according to learning styles, as this will vary from learner to learner. Rather design learning according to your learning objectives.

Hello Chuck! It's been a little while. Hope you're doing well. My only correction is the reference to ID and ISD. ISD is the large industry and ID is the design or architecting of the learning experience. Of course project management, ADDIE is a PM model. I like to reference the automotive business. The marketing team does the analysis The engineer is the designer that maps the whole learning experience from beginning to end The floor production team are the developers The car lot and sales are the people that execute the implementation The drivers of the vehicle are the teachers that deliver the learning The mechanics are the maintenance teams that update the curriculum, best practice on biennial program The safety and QA/QC teams lead the update process
