I agree. No need to cut plugs up to see how rich or lean the engine is running. This guys engine is running a bit lean for a 2 cycle. Better richen it up or you'll burn the pistons.

Avgas runs cooler by principle. But it’s unleaded so the deposits in the ports may not be worth it.

Unless the engine is running 12:1 compression or more, using av gas in a 2 stroke quad engine is just a waste of money. The only time you need high octane in any engine is if it runs high mechanical compression or lots of boost. Av gas is leaded, which modern engines don't need so all that will do is add deposits to the combustion chambers. The only reason they still use leaded fuel in aviation is because there are many very old engines still in service in aircraft that require lead to protect the valve seats. The higher octane is not for more power, it's to resist detonation (spark knock) which would destroy an engine in flight and cause engine failure.

I purchased mine in used condition off eBay. I had to install new brass bushings into the link as the one I purchased was worn out. No press needed. Just a punch and hammer.

I remember thinking when I passed you "how on earth did he manage to end up in that position ...." Glad you didn't get hurt though. That was the Bobby Johnson mile... Off camber and a little tight. Last year we rode it in the opposite direction. I think it was harder last year.

@@YerzengaPerformance that was my first race. I think I ran out of talent thru that stretch . nothing broke that I was aware of but the top/inner part of my hand was feeling it from mashing into the top of the throttle box

@@jacobroom5775 Last years Round 1 at Camp Deer Trails was my first ever XC too. And I too caught a few trees and got the bars ripped out of my hands once or twice. So, you're not alone my friend. It was cool to see even more quads out there compared to the year before. Even with the snow and cold weather. Good job out there. Did you have fun? Even with the few accidents? Did you race in round 2 at Lincoln?

@@YerzengaPerformance yeah I still had a good time. Unfortunately I wasn't at round 2 or any of the d14 races but will try to make it to some of the next races

I try to have the same difference from to rear for a seated stance. But our numbers will differ just simply based on tires. I'm running monster truck tires on this thing simply because it's what I had when this XC racing started.

13 in the front and 41 in the rear. 22" rear tires.

Oh... The ruts got way deeper. First lap looks fun. 4th lap and on were hell

@@YerzengaPerformance Damm dude. 22" is crazy. I'm still sorting out my gearing ⚙️ I'm 15/41. Seams like I have way too much hp. 1st gear Rev's out super fast and 4th and 5th gear it just wheelies. I was kinda thinking 15/40 ?

@@Floridawoodsbanshee I simply run the 22's because I got a really good deal on them. And it really pays off to have the larger tires in some of these spots in the XC races. Plenty of guys running a-ground with 20's. It really comes down to momentum. But the 22's do help. But, the don't help at all with the banshees natural cumbersome feeling.

That was pretty much it.

A bad set of reeds can play similar games. It's highly unlikely being the carb itself unless it's really dirty and clogged. 1. Make sure you have genuine Mikuni jets I'm the carb and they are the proper size. Especially the pilot jet. 2. Turn your air/fuel screw in all the way then back it out 1 and a half full rotations. 3. Take your reed cage out and put it up to the light. If you see light shining through the edges than you need new reeds. Maybe a new cage too. I just replaced an old cage that has slight cracks on the bridge. If all that is dialed in and you still have this no rev situation then try grounding the wire. But make sure all your tors connections are unplugged.

Thanks for watching the video. The timing for the XC race came out a little different from the order you see in the video. The 250R actually placed 6th I Believe due to him having a chain brake and missing a lap compared to others. A banshee actually took 1st. 400ex took 2nd, banshee took 3rd, and the Nasty Blasty took 4th.

Whats funny is I don't remember the front end coming up at all. Probably a good thing otherwise I wouldn't have stayed in the power. You could see Matt had a great start and almost had me. Thats why I added the clip of us looking right at each other off the line. I wonder if he was thinking the same thing as me ..." alright... who's it gonna be.."
