Did you ever finish this bike? I bought one for $175 and it's almost finished being restored!

Thanks for the video! I’m restoring a ‘73 GT550. Things are going well but discovered that a prior owner cut off both seat hinges from the frame, the piece that the seat hinge pin slides through. So it’s a bit of a fabrication project for me.

4 gears not five. The TS didn't have duel range so it had 5.

I have a '73 in the same color that is in really nice shape. Not the original motor. I had to get a second one and between the two engines I put together one good one. Currently the only issue is the rear tire went flat when I was riding a few days ago. Pull the ignition harness in the headlamp shell so it will run without a key.

I had a bad coil on the stator and finally found it on Ebay. Good luck.

Under-inflated tire wheel cause the bike to wiggle especially in corners and if you ever have a flat on the rear or rear tire goes down will experience something just like a death wobble

Does not look like a death wobble what you experienced is uneven payment and being a demo bike tires are probably inflated to Max which will make it wiggle more on uneven pavement and will make it handle better in corners and lean easier you should have test Road a lowrider St it is a mono shock on it like the Indian and handles way better then the Road Glide and smoother

I’ve put 100,000 miles between Vics and Indians, and never had a “Death Wobble”. I’ve been as fast as 150mph on my Challenger and 145 on one of my Vics. You’ll love the Challenger, it’s a much nicer bike than the HD.

Stock Harley Road glide versus an Indian challenger stock. I’m sorry, but challenger is way faster. There’s no comparison been on both. nice video though. Thanks bud.

Indians are built at the plant in Spirit Lake, IA. Polaris HQ is in Minnesota.

Stock Roadglide is in no way faster.

Unless it's tuned it has less horsepower and the same torque. New CVOs recalled for instability above 95. Official fix is to affix ballast and calbrate the ECM to limit the top speed to 95.

You have an adjustable screen dood. Why not use it for the helmet buffeting? That’s what it’s for??? I’m a HD rider in Australia that is definitely being converted to Indian for the long haul rides.. Oh and the Indian has it over the Harley on a 0-60 drag race.. check the times.. St Road Glide 4.4 / Challenger 4.1.. not much but definitely a pay up sucker bet for some… ROAD GLIDE dood.. Even 20 years ago, this place was dump. He’d keep brand new bikes outside where they’d rust and get scratched up. He was very careless when he moved stuff.

zinc sunscreen works too, or a dark colored grease. lots of things in the shop that don't require buying women's cosmetics for a single purpose.

I was recently given one exactly like yours that had been sitting uncovered in a barn for over five years. You can imagine the rust, dirt and grime. It didn't come with the compound either. It actually cost me a case of beer and the gas to make a 100 mile round trip. I have since gotten it cleaned up and have everything working on it. The tooling and the vise that matches it are just waiting next to it so I am going to start in learning the finer points of this particular machine. I landed here because I am scouring TH-cam for any video I can find on these things. I am encouraged to see that you like yours so much that you recommend them. Thanks for that.
