About Endocrine Disruptors in Perfumery
มุมมอง 6028 วันที่ผ่านมา
Make sure to check out @CirrusParfum on TikTok! She creates amazing content on perfume materials and explores certain myths. While I’m not dismissing concerns about endocrine disruptors, I sometimes feel that perfumery bears the brunt of criticism when it comes to toxicity. If perfumes were truly that harmful, wouldn't we see more perfumers suffering from fragrance-related illnesses? After all,...

Reviewing Honey Suite by Snif x Emilia Professor Perfume
มุมมอง 11128 วันที่ผ่านมา
I had a chance to receive a lovely bottle of Honey Suite by Snif x @professor.perfume It was really not what I expected in a good way. I love how the focus on this one was on the woodiness and leathery side of saffron where the vanilla and honey sweetness is only there to soften the heavier and herbaceous notes. It is currently sold out but I believe they will be restocking shortly. Stay tuned!...

How to create fragrance material dilutions
Thank you for this great information! Can i use the concentrated oil directly? without any carrier?
@@alexandrustefanica Do not use the concentrated oils as is. That could actually be dangerous given the high concentration of materials. You have to use a carrier like ethanol or oil. Very rarely does a perfume go over a concentration of 25% and that is considered high. We see more like 5-15% most often.

do i need to "age" the diluted material before using it for blending ?
@@Aarep20 Not really. Not all materials age well. Patchouli you can age but notes like Bergamot (or other citruses) and aldehydes for example have a shorter shelf life. So best to use asap.

Your vids are the first place I've ever heard of White Musk. From your description it sounds like a great, inoffensive, light perfume. I can imagine it freeing my senses from the various odors of the city. Someone wearing it would seem like an angel, above the mundane struggle for survival of their ego. I think in the modern astral environment it could easily be lost in the struggle to maintain attention on anything that doesn't force itself into focus.
That’s not 100% true. The first original eau de cologne is from Farina 1709. It is still in Produktion. Johann Maria Farina invented it and is still sold from his descendants in the Family Boutique in Cologne, also on their website. 4711 was one of the most well-known Dupes there were made at the time. Like Creed Aventus is the Original and MontBlanc Explorer, Armaf Club de Nuit intese and others are Dupes. Farina 1709 Original Eau de Cologne is Creed Aventus and 4711 Eau de Cologne is MontBlanc Explorer. Creed Green Irish Tweed was the Original, Davidoff Cool Water is/was the best selling Dupe. And so on….
@@robbyroggers7898 Yes you are right. “Oldest” however is always a debatable subject in perfumery. I mostly recorded those more in a whimsical and fun vibe than as an absolute considering all possible scenarios. It always depends on what we are evaluating and what parameter we are considering for what ‘oldest means’. The formula’s age (before both there was Aqua de la Regina which was also citrus based in 1533 by the Dominican monks of Santa Maria Novella in Florence. Before that there was Egyptian Mendesian and Kyphie that goes back before Cleopatra’s time. Who is to say what is older?) , consistency of production (ex: Farina’s production was interupted at some point during the Napolean wars where 4711 was never interrupted), what the carrier is (fragrance with ethanol started in the 14th century with Hungary water, oil based fragrances started over 4000 years ago in ancient civilizations). So again, it’s quite an open conversation.
You are right. Fragrances were made since the beginning of civilization. It’s sadly impossible to have any of those fragrances nowadays. I was only talking about the Eau de Cologne from Cologne😉 Fun Fact the 4711 in Germany is seen as a Granny Fragrance, because it is worn mostly by older Ladys. The Farina smells very different. It’s more citrusy, not so heavy on the Neroli and very uplifting. But anyways it’s awesome that they stood their ground till today on this fast paste Markets. That one of Cleopatra i would be curious to try, just for the sake of the Legends around her, but it’s sadly discontinued😢😆
@@robbyroggers7898 I really need to get my hands on a bottle of Farina's to compare. I believe the museum still sells bottles and I think Roger Gallet now produced the original fragrance.
Out here in the backwoods of East Texas we have a wild weed called horsemint. It has a very distinct scent that might be interesting. Like something that metropolites wouldn't be familiar with. And since I've been growing tomatoes, I've noticed that the plant itself has a very strong scent I am almost obsessed with. Tomatoes are in the nightshade family which includes tobacco. As a former smoker the tomato plant smell is very enticing to me. But maybe it could be nice in some perfume too. #Farmcore Hehehe
I have a similar story, though it was my sister ('70) who fell because she was trying to follow me ('68 F) off the roof in a new-to-us way. (Prior to that, we just all jumped from a lowish spot.) Our older sister ('66) and I bandaged her up and checked on her throughout yhe night, and we all stayed quiet so we wouldn't get in trouble. At the time, we would have been 8, 10 and 12. We finally told our father in our 40s and he completely flipped out ... as if would have have taken her to the hospital anyway ... For the record, we were all very comfortable up on the roof. I routinely climbed the tree with a book and lemonade and hung out up there. One year, we and the neighborhood kids even decided freeze tag and hide-n-seek needed more excitement, so we added our and a few neighbors' roofs to the playing field. That came to a screeching halt when we picked the wrong neighbor's house, but of course our roof continued to be used for hanging out.
Gen Xer here. The level of I don't care what you think about me or anything else is off the charts. I truly don't care. Your personal opinions about me or anything else is your business, not mine. And the same gets applied to me. My job is to be me & to live with the consequences of being me, wherher that's good or bad. I don't have the time or desire to focus on others. I don't need validation from others that are irrelevant to me & my life. I think that's what some of the biggest differences between Gex X & other generations that came after us. They seek the very opposite of things we do & again, don't care. Hopefully, one day, they will enjoy the freedom of not caring & just being yourself without worrying about validation or acceptance. PS...you do not look Gen X. You look Millennial at most, even elder Gen Z.
Our parents allowed us to camp out on the roof of our carport.😳 Thinking back, I’m pretty sure One of us could’ve rolled off the roof at anytime. We had a blast, I wouldn’t change a thing! 👊💪❤️🤣
Gen X men don't talk like women.
Gen Xr of 67 here. If my Dad knew about my "homemade firecrackers", I wouldn't be breathing today! These days, most people would call them IEDs. I NEVER wanted to hurt ANYONE!!! I just wanted to see how big of a hole I could make in the ground. Ever see a shell crater?🤭 I was good! I still have ALL my fingers and toes!!! But I never tell anyone why my eyebrows are so thin and sparse!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Adding... I did this from age 8 (yes, I was a smart little guy!) until about 14. Then I found my first real girlfriend, and forgot all about making bigger "firecrackers". 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Is it ok after dilution by Dpg Use Dpg instead of ethanol?
Stereoblind isn’t actually a term we use in the field. There are so many factors that can contribute to the lack of stereo perception including constricted functional visual fields, strabismus, and binocular vision disorders. Stereopsis is a way to measure the functionality. It can be achieved if not functioning well. Suppression is the term used for “seeing with one eye” although both eyes are used, but it is now beginning ti be described as a decreased sensitivity to visual motion rather than the brain such ignoring one eye. It’s also more than simply working with the eyes. The purpose of vision is to direct action through the use of information as derived by radiant energy. The feet actually affect the way the eyes are direct and used. Poor gross motor development affects vision and stereo as well. Many people do get improvements with therapy with only the eyes without the gross motor component, but a simple Brock string can make vision disorders such as convergence excess, esophoria or divergence insufficiency worse. It’s not merely about cranking out the activity but also the attitudes and techniques with these, so a proper diagnosis is paramount. For some of these binoculars problems, some can be quite stubborn, and pending the age, can be difficult to make permanent breakthroughs. Many people do, but this must be understood by those who have the more stubborn ones. Example would be mid-aged esotropic adults. Despite all this, the best way to find a doctor is through the COVD (now OVDR) and the OEPF. For those with problems due to head injury, NORA is another resource.
@@StripedCheeseBread Abdolutely! For me the Brockstring was pivotal I however had to undergo rigorous training with a specialist to activate both image convergence and coordination of both eyes. All this helped greatly but can’t say it’s 💯. I will revert back if I work extensively on a computer, in darker lighting (forget driving for longer distances at night) or anytime my eyes are tired. I also have certain important limitations in my peripheral vision especially on the right side. Following an object side to side can throw my vision off sync for a bit. 🤷🏽♂️
@@artandalchemyparfum many have that one activity that just puts everything together. in my experience, there is not much reverting back after therapy. There are a few exceptional cases and diagnosis though. Sounds like you got some more work cut out for you. You’ll get there. Most of the time progress is maintained by wearing a good prescription customized for the computer distance.
I'd never heard of this condition before but it was fascinating to learn. Really happy to hear your journey is going so well. Welcome to the 3D club!

Nope, someone that I knew was red/green color blind, low night vision, and this right here. It kinda hit him hard with the visual disabilities.
i got this due to very bad vision in one eye from keratoconus, so i learned to rely on my good eye, and even cross my eyes in deep focus to get the visual noise from the bad eye out of my central focus. Really messes with your perception of reality, kind of kickstarted derealization for me. Also no way this guy is 43 or older🤯
I’m 47 now!!!! 😱
I thiught this was the answer to my prayers for a second but I’ve always been able to see 3d movies and distant/close blurry doubles when my eyes are focused so now I’m back to square one that Im just uncoordinated
But that is the thing. The issue is an eye coordination one paired with a neurological issue where the brain doesn’t know what to do with both images. You might not be far from your answers. 👍🏽
Wait, that's not normal?
Nope! You need to see with BOTH eyes at the same time. Both images need to converge 🤯
@@artandalchemyparfum I'm gonna have to go get that checked out.

I shared it on Tiktok and it helped so many ppl there so I hope this as well can spread some awareness on this visual impediment. I had no idea before I was diagnosed. 😮
It's crazy TH-cam would randomly show me this vid, when I've done zero searches on the topic, or even heard the phrase, "stereoblindness"... but this is something I have due to a genetic condition in one of my eyes. I never knew you could train it, they just slapped a patch on my eye when I was 2-3 years old and expected it to correct itself. Very informative, thank you!
Glad this found you and hope it can help.Therapy goes through a whole slew of exercise but the Brock string was pivotal for me regaining stereo-vision.

My sister knocked my tooth out on the driveway and it took us forever to find it. I got clobered on the ballfield in practice and was knocked out for a few minutes woke up with a hole thru my lip from how hard it smashed against my teeth! everyone was standing around me in a circle when I opened my eyes! we played a game called stretch that involved throwing knives in the ground close to our feet to see if we could stretch like twister! sometimes we missed the ground but couldnt say a word because we werent supposed to be playing with knives!! 70's - 80's Gen X was the best!
