His bass was excellent in Something, You won't see me again, and many more songs.
pretty boring commentary
I was just thinking about how great Paul's bass playing is in the last 2 albums this morning.. how did this short find me? Keeps happening!
I always thought it was a parody of John Mayall.
Old news! Tell us something we don’t know.
Just listen to the silly love song bass line it's amazing
Leyland Sklar rates McCartney and that is good enough for me.
I think he excelled in bass because at the time they started, most bass lines in rock were a bit simple. He came along, at first as a guitarist who didn’t want to get the bass player position but it wasn’t going to be John nor George. So he started playing bass almost like a guitarist, noodling all over the fretboard and coming up with different notes to counter the melody being played.
Xlnt Documentary veiwed way cool
That was not much of a story... Like "Yes, let's be the Who instead"...
McCartney is an early influential titan of the electric bass. Any musician worth a damn knows that.
I once saw Paul McCartney live and can confirm: He is a fantastic bass player!
The bass line for “you never give me your money” is money
When I was a young lad it was the bass in the Beatles songs which always were the attraction for me
Bill Wyman was better in my opinion
McCartney was born a musical note!!! Plays everything, great singer,songwriter...We all know the answer to that!!!!!
One of my favorite bands. I got to watch them on day on the green. The clash opened for them! Great concert.
I mean Goodnight Tonight is one of the funkiest bass tunes of all time.
That's not insightful.... It's a ridiculous thing to say. He'd be on everyone's list. Anyone that knows anything. Gimme a break.
ROFLMAO y'all are nuts. This dude is a half a clown. He never heard the story because if doesn't exist. Oh, and nobody cares
Paul’s bass is what made me happy in the Beatles
He's a great bass player... but I really love his guitar solos with The Beatles. They seem out of place yet it fits well in the songs.
True. But, alongside John, NEVER forget contribution of George. His "Something" is not even an inch less significant and covered.
Please let us know when you've completed this documentary..... I wouldn't miss it for the World. 🎸♥️
As a bass player myself, Paul is one of the Great Bassist and layed down some of the most Wicked and sometimes Complicated Bass lines EVER! Any Bassist worth their salt, would have to listen to him and Take Notes. 🎸♥️
Stewart, Andy and the Bass Element owe us one last record!
Le bassiste top five Paul ? C’est une plaisanterie, il n’a absolument rien de génial
Love his bass lines so much. Love his lines in A Day in a Life. Come Together Baby, you're a Rich Man Others too, but these are my favs! When is the documentary coming out?
he often does really strange stuff in his basslines you wouldn't expect from one of the most popular artists in the world, always really liked that
Hey bulldog its one of the greatest bass of all time
It's a funny thought, as a bassist, he was very good, but yeah, that's almost the last thing I think about with Paul. Songwriter, singer, leader, all definitely come before his bass and guitar playing. Also a decent enough pianist. Just an insanely talented guy.
He is very influential, a lot bassists started because of Paul.
The Paul/Ringo rhythm section in general is among the most unique the industry ever had. Consistently brilliant playing from both on all their records!
Not only was he a great bass player he was a good drummer and a really good guitarist and pianist.
Bass on Taxman - watershed moment in rock history.
I always heard Paul was a great bass player. I thought it was excellent. I was shocked when Quincy Jones said his bass playing was poor. I don't know what to make of that.
So bad he died …..
Paul regularly appears on top bass player lists
THE SOUND OF PAULS BASS IS STILL OUT THERE ! man you kids need to learn to LISTEN !
Rick Rubin has zero talent, zero insight, why are we listening to him
Paul's bass skill is shown the best on Something and Silly love songs to me Both are excellent
If you watch early live versions of twist and shout, you hear that the bassline is really energetic and he plays it effortlessly, without looking at his fretboard and while singing and engaging the audience. He's still maybe not a virtuoso but I've always thought he was a brilliant bassist.
Paul is my top bassist of the 60’s. Shoutout to Noel Redding who is top 5 at the very least as well
Now lets see what a nobody commenting while shitting thinks of the Beatles.
He’s an incredible bass player because he’s so melodic. He takes his guitar skill and puts it on bass in many ways.
Unfortunately i would have to disagree on this. Paul is not a bass player who put the instrument on the line. He only has one great bass line which is come together. He shouldn't be considered one of the greatest. Don't get me wrong he is one of the greatest musicians ever but he hasn't make much to show how important a bass player can be
Learn a Beatles song on the bass Then sing over the top of it (melody and harmony) Then get back to me on why Paul isn’t in your conversation of best bass players of all time.
If you want a great Paul baseline go listen to ‘Silly Love Songs’ from Wings. Do it. Do it now.
One of the funnest basslines to play ever!
the bass player makes the band "happen" probably
Dear Prudence… what a bass line 🙌
