I have been a Maine Passamaquoddy professional basket weaver of traditional native baskets for nearly 30 years! As a native artist, I weave the narratives of my ancestors into my brown ash and sweetgrass baskets to preserve our ancient tradition. I hand-process all of my weaving materials and hand-braid all of the sweetgrass used in my work. Aquascaping my first Aquarium: The Hardscape
This is my first attempt at aquascaping. I've had aquariums before, but this is my first hardscape! After doing some research, I'm using my old (scratched) 20 gallon long tank as a first attempt. It was super relaxing to get this far.

Very nice work! I came here from searching natural mosquito repellents and wondered if the sweetgrass had been used originally to keep bugs out of the baskets, assuming it repels other bugs besides mosquitoes?
Thank you for your comments! I am not aware of whether or not the Sweetgrass has been used as a repellent in the past. Any comments from others on this question?
