Yes sir. As long as it is a flat surface within the wall jamb, it will seal on it. It has a pretty beefy seal that comes down to meet with the countertop. It is very similar to a bottom door seal. I would not recommend that. When you lift a piece of glass above someone's head, it needs to be done right. Our Flip Out Window is an engineered window designed to do this one function of opening up to 90 degrees and sealing to your countertop when closed. Our bottom seal is similar to a bottom door seal. We also use Ascentric locks, which compresses the seals tighter together when you lock it. It is basically installing it at the proper height and following the installation directions properly, so you have a nice tight fit. We are in over 40 states now, and many are back east in the snow and rain. We advise to slope the counter away from the structure and seal it properly. @@flipoutwindows5153 The client has some pretty significant climate concerns and just want to get an idea of how these seals work, watching your videos it isn't very clear. Are you saying these "eccentric locks" have some kind of mechanism that pushes downwards on the bottom seal? Or are you saying that when you lock the window it pulls the window tight against the left, right, and top seals (and probably a healthy bit on the bottom as well)?

@@getstuk87 In order to understand how the bottom seal works, I would suggest you follow the link to our website www.flipoutwindows.com/details-specifications and there is a close up picture of the bottom seal. The first thing you notice is that this seal extends past the metal framing so it makes contact with the counter first. This seal is attached to our sash frame and when the window is closing onto the counter, this seal gets compressed against the counter. When installing our windows, you first place the window on the counter and the weight of the window is all on this seal so it is too tight. You must lift the window support frame up using standard door shims approximately 1/16 of an inch to reduce the pressure on the bottom seal. Be careful not to raise the frame too much, as you may lift the bottom seal off the counter creating an air gap. On both sides and the top of our window, we offer a back seal and a front seal for double protection, then eccentric locks compress all these together to form a locking seal. Additionally our sash frame is all steel and one solid piece, so when it makes contact with the counter, there is no give and it keeps its shape. Unlike aluminum version that flex and cannot hold their shape, that type is bolted together. You can also down load our installation instructions from our website and learn more about it.
