i think payback really did it well, had alot of slow, rythmic, rap and hip hop that echoed nicely throughout the garage, and fit in the menus also, but also had some good modern rock to add the sense of speed and rush of racing at top speed. heat was good in terms of menu music, maybe one or two driving music i liked. unbound tho? idk, i can see where the music is good on menus, but, just generally find it hard to enjoy most or all the music in the game, especially with repeated play.

i've only recently started playing Unbound and it's a really fun game and the art-style is gorgeous. that being said, you'd think that with a game like this where the focus is heavily on the art-style, that it would have a more intuitive photo-mode. 99% of all racing game players are car enthusiasts. So, do we want cool wallpapers of our in-game creations? HELL YEAH we do!! They need to fix this photo-mode. At least it's the only thing letting it down now apart from the menu narration (at least you can shut that up)

They should add some d&b in unbound

Lets be honest; most songs in NFS mw are really boring and repetitive

I still find the musical selection of modern NFS inferior, not only because of the genres it uses but also because of the vibe it transmits.

Unbounds OST isnt bad really, yeah its lows are pretty shit but the worst part of it is that it doesnt fit the gameplay all that well, other than that its fine. Lets not forget NFSU2 had Black Betty.... Prostreet once again shows its superiority here, i mean its track list is perfect

To be honest, when I was playing Need For Speed Underground 2 in 2005, I thought that Need For Speed Underground 3 will be the next Need For Speed game. Unfortunately, Need For Speed Most Wanted was the next Need For Speed game not Underground 3.

Need For Speed Underground 1, Underground 2, Most Wanted (2005) and Carbon are the best Need For Speed games ever. All of the future Need For Speed games have better graphics but worse gameplay than the 4 games that I just said.

HEAT and UNBOUND have like, zero rock/metal tracks that made Need for Speed what it was back in the day between the Underground - Hot Pursuit era. I never have my music enabled in the settings with these newer games because I don't want to listen to constant black pop/rap/hip hop cancer.

Not a valid comparison at all. Many people don't like songs because they don't convey the passion of speed or the desire for that speed. Songs used to evoke "likenesses" to the player's actions. Are you in a garage? You listen to a song that will reference that. You're driving down a very long road at breakneck speed ? Why not drive with a movie soundtrack or in a nicer but clearly referencing the speed of the song. Are you drifting in a canyon ? Why not add more excitement with a song that is clearly not serious and yet evokes positive feelings ? I still listen to the soundtrack from underground to this day - because I work with carbon fiber and it captures the feeling, busyness and creativity perfectly. It's not that there's no rock! No, it's about the lyrics themselves: I WANT THE MONEY or MORE MONEY, MORE CASH, MORE FLOW, MORE THROW? And songs was too "trigger warning". Song about death, about mental problems, about killing. They're are bad ? No. And second problem - much more soundtracks about racing, not have racing feelings. Unbound have some tracks, but not half. If soundtrack of unbound was like "pay day" or "Eyes close", it can be good soundtrack style design. ( And not song about girl who want pee. EA, Wtf?! ) I've listened to rock music my whole life, but never insulted other genres. Underground 1, 2 taught me to appreciate calmness and enjoy rhythm, most wanted aggressive music that can be transferred from different genres. Undercover that even the calmest music has a rhythm of speed and loss of fear, pro street is what festivals sound like, and car festivals sound exactly like that. The run - you are like a character from a movie. (Mick Gordon!) This game doesn't have the "style" it wants to be. Adrenaline and fun or gloomy but aggressive, or maybe you came to the festival and like assholes to chase money - the game will not answer you that.

theres a couple decent songs, in unbound, the overall music in it isnt what i listen to everyday, but thats the beauty of video gamers, they can open you up to music youd never think youd like

There are some salvageable songs in Unbound. You want a really stinky OST? NFS Heat has the worst OST.

The music in unbound is just kinda modern garbage it lacks soul is the best way I could describe it feels like there's a lack of effort in it for the majority of it there really isn't any bangers in it.
