my wife and I are both gold in part choosing to fly BA to retain status. We spend between us £20/25k per annum in my view not a small sum. We'd have to spend £40/45k moving forward that isn't worth it. On the plus side a recent trip id planned to take with BA i looked at the comparison sites. I got a similar deal with KLM £900 cheaper than BA offered. My loyalty from now on lies with best value thanks BA I'll give my £25k to others as clearly you don't want it.

Hi ya, 20K pounds are without taxes.... so 30K USD.... for GOLD.

In my case, I have a £25k spend per year of my own money and predominately for work travel, of course under the new soon to be applied rules, that will get me to GOLD after taxes etc, so not really affected by that alone. what am I going to do !, well it's going to be the middle finger from me to BA, why !, because they have royally "P****D" me off with the changes to the "Life Time Gold" status, I am sitting presently on 23.000 TP's and it would have only been another 4 to 5 years away to achieve GFL, now however that has doubled overnight and all done in a very underhand manner, treating long time BA travellers with utter contempt, now my last 12 years of "Loyalty" counts for Jack S**T. As I reside in Brazil, I have decided to shuffle on over to Latam and will come this September or October easily attain "Black Signature" in their Latam Pass program, which equates to BA GGL, and for a spend after taxes of £18.000 at today exchange rate, I will "Never" spend a penny with BA again through choice, (never say never...but believe me, in this case, Never will mean NEVER), already booked GRU-LHR return and one way GRU-LAX for next month with Latam, £5500 that will not be in BA's coffers, on my pattern of travel I will use Latam, DL and AM to the US, Latam, AF and VS to Europe.

I think the piece BA have seriously miscalculated is that to retain status based on this revenue model means people will need to fly ‘expensive’ tickets to just built points. But if they are already booking Club (or First) so as to spend the money to earn the points, then _the ticket itself_ will give them lounge, priority boarding, additional luggage etc anyway. So you have to question: What these tiers actually giving me? Pretty much nothing except fee seat reservation at time of booking (Silver and Gold) and we are talking a lot of money for this small benefit given you are likely booking a higher cabin. So where is the value? Gold and Silver were great for me travelling weekly in Europe, booked economy, precisely because it gave me tangible benefits of lounge and checkin. But even if I’m able to be booked Club (or First), the tier now gives me almost nothing, and so it has no value and there is no incentive. BIG mistake IMHO

No big risk for BA. They want top spenders in their programme. the others will fill the back of the plane. Their programme never envisioned so many low spenders at GOLD or SILVER levels. This will redress this inbalance and reduce tier point runs to get status, unless you are spending decent money. Their transatlantic partner (AA) has had some influence on this strategy too...The new reality is here...

I’m in that “business owner” bracket. Gold for years and GGL the past 2. My wife also. Kids silver every since 2016.. My last BA flights have been booked for 16th-21st Jan. Emirates and Singapore from now. BA doesn’t have the product to keep me even if my spend will still easily get me gold.1st or business heading East (long haul) is my usual route and BA have crappy schedules, grumpy crew and awful soft/hard product. Loyalty and patriotism count for nothing.

I think its a PR disaster. First, youtubers. Imagine having people producing adverts for you, that sell tickets, and they do it at no cost to you? Genius marketing. Now you piss them off, and not only do they stop advertising for free. They warn people off you. They then go and do the same for your competitors, losing you business. It also sends a message to your customers, if you are loyal to us, we will treat you like dirt. Very very hard to get back from that.

These are good chances. You cannot expect to be gold after 3 trips. Ridiculous. This will make the club somewhat excusive again. Buy a club class ticket if you want the microwaved rubbish in the lounge. This should separate the wheat from the chaff. Pay the money or fly with someone else. Simple. All these grifters wanting something for nothing! All this talk about never flying BA again..... nonsense, you'll be back....

I am also Lifetime Gold. My wife and son are also Gold (my son acquired Gold status at the age of 11). There is no chance of them retaining Gold status. Having been loyal to BA for years and always choosing BA in preference to other airlines, this is a kick in the teeth. BA have demonstrated that they do not care about my wife and son. In future we will not fly BA.

Tommy Danielson is misinformed. The CAHSR IOS is short $5-10 Billion in funding to complete. The funding for the portal extension to the SF transit center is at least still $2 Billion short as well. Caltrain monthly ridership has decreased from 1.7 million to .75 million.

Just booked here due to having several free night certificates expiring. Now I am sort of worried. However, it is only for 2 nights and I can't really complain about free. We are staying at Il Tornabuoni for 4 nights after that. My families first time staying in Italy and we are super excited!

Really nice hotel, modern but with details, what I expect from hotels.

Conrad Bangkok's Conrad Suite has a similar bathroom set-up, but is bigger/longer - the tub is not in the shower and the space includes the walk-in closet.

Agreed, a great club. Being a casino they found a model that makes the club profitable, most people in the club have access through gaming status or have purchased access.

I wish more people who are not globalists would make videos. Your video was informative but I am not a globalist so all the freebies that they give do not apply to me.

It is not big, but it has nice features inside the room like the wall of the tv and behind the bed.

Not just a great airport hotel but a great hotel overall maybe one of the best.

I clicked on this cause I like the CVR. I haven't looked at your other vids but maybe you could invest in a Gimbal to stabilize your camera. So many sudden moves and twists. And just a tip make every visual interesting, don't just keep showing us the balcony for 5 min while you talk while jerking cam back and forth. If you have no more shots, go slow motion left to right, and voice over your commentary.

Taking the bus out front to Notting Hill tube station will take you directly to Paddington on Circle Line.

I stayed here in late September on holiday with my mom. I enjoyed it. Tube station is close enough but taking the bus out front was so convenient.

My late husband and I went in to this hotel (dropped off by cabbie) and went in to inquire about the costs. This was in 2002 and they said (with a snotty attitude) it was 500 Euros a night. I didn't want to pay that much and so declined and when we turned around they had already taken our luggage to the back. We had a very hard time getting it back and when we went to leave the doorman put his hand on my back and shoved me out the door like I was trash. I could afford the $500 Euros but just didn't want to pay that much for a room I would spend very little time in. So horribly rude! The next hotel we went to said their rooms were $170 Euros a night and when I said fine they said "We don't have any rooms."! I always said everything on our European trip that I planned was wonderful. Everything I didn't plan (like rooms in Paris) were not wonderful. But the rudeness was absolutely horrible.

Just to clarify, if you are leaving San Francisco and want to get to Carmel you must head South as Carmel is about an hour south of San Francisco.

I have stayed there, it was a huge dissapointment! The room was dated, carpet seemed old, I got several calls about staff needing to come in, something about painting, I denied their request and they came in anyway. Bad experience all around.
