Hi, Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed the reading :) In this poem he reflects on what his younger self thought his life might be in the future and his disappointment that his hopes of his younger self's future did not turn out how he thought they would, but despite this he is choosing to let go of the past and instead look forward to the future. This particular line I believe he is perhaps referencing the thoughts he used to have about how his future would be and perhaps even his current thoughts in which he is choosing to let go of those previous notions of his life. Hope this helps a little bit!
