When I first heard this song, it touched me to my core and I felt called to bring attention to it. I grew up listening to Linkin Park, and hearing about Chester Bennington's death was devastating. Even more devastating to hear this song after his death - crying out that "I do" - I care if one more light in this world goes out. Initially, this dance was a stand for suicide prevention, but with all the mass shootings that seemed to follow, it became a cry for letting everyone know how much they are loved and how much we care about their light in this world. Even if one star in the sky dies, it is not the same sky anymore. This dance is a stand to be kind, to remember that you never know what people are going through, to smile at strangers, to love longer and to love deeper, to remember and honor your own worth and the worth of those around you, and to remind everyone that they are important and loved. Each dancer represents someone who can no longer stand up for themselves, but we are the voice that can make the change. Spread the love.
