November 2007, supporting the Paratroopers of the 173rd and their ANA partners during Operation Rock Avalanche, this was the last flight into the Korengal Valley that ended a 30 hour mission to support and evacuate wounded and fallen heroes.
Several DUSTOFF crews were involved and only because this one particular flight had two Apache gunships providing cover was one able to film while providing cover.
More than several articles and books have covered this battle, this is just one 8 minute part of over 30 hours.
There are several people that can call me and ask me to delete this video and I’ll do so in a minute.
I’ve tried to post this before but have always stopped myself but as the two year anniversary of the leaving of Afghanistan to the Taliban I want to share this to show the human cost, both American and ANA and remember those that gave everything in the hopes for a different outcome for the people of Afghanistan.
