for a shonen, d gray man tone is definetely the opposite of other. there is a feeling of hopelessness, sadness, sorrow about it, and it's no wonder when in so many episode you encounter death and character dealing with grieve and the lost of their love one. in naruto, one piece, fma, hxh etc, there is only a handfull of episode that are sad because of the death of a character but for dgm, it seem that 80% of episode are this way.
