I was a youngster when he came on the scene for the Broncos, and used to play 6 or 3, i preferred 3. Watching him before he gets the ball is great. That's where he gets guys. He's straight on with his defender, nothing lateral until they look st the ball carrier as the lines start getting closer. He runs sn arc play so before he gets the ball he's running in sn src.to.get.on the outside shoulder of his defender. Half the time the defender doesn't notice that he's in-between the two defenders, so if the outside defender comes in, you pass to your outside man who's now unmarked, or what usually happens os the outside defender stays with his man, your defender now looks up and sees you're 5-10 metres to the outside and coming hard. I got to go to a few Broncos games and my dad said just watch him off the ball, before he gets the ball. That's what makes him great. Along with being flash fast and strong. He was my inspiration as a child, i haven't seen anyone as good as him in that position. Great defender, even though he was undersized.

He could have kept playing by the way he was playing in 95. I suppose he can always say he went out still playing at his best.

The fact that they were faster than Hanley isn’t relevant. Lindord Christie is faster but he wouldn’t t have made it. Hanley & Robinson were absolutely incredible and would dominate any code of rugby or ‘gridiron’

That Wallabies side in 1999 really impressed me. I was in fact, rooting for them for the 1999 RWC, and I'm English. The back line of Gregan, Larkham, Roff, Tune, Herbert, Burke and thee great Tim Horan was magical, and of course, Kefu, Waugh, Giffin and Eales up front. Larkham is one of the best 10s I've seen in the modern era, up there with Carter, Wilkinson, Spencer and Hernandez - and the best running 10 I've seen live. I never saw some of the other great 10s live, such as Barry John, Mark Ella, Michael Lynagh and Hugo Porta though.

I can see how he revolutionised Australian rugby. Such a great thinker of the game, brilliant handler off the ball and fantastic vision and game awareness. He's in my All-time Rugby Union squad as replacement fly half. The only 10 I think was superior to him, Hugo Porta, gets the start at 10. The back line he had to work with in the Australia squad was legendary, Campese, Gary & Glen Ella, Nick-Farr Jones and Simon Poidevin - formidable.
