Hello and welcome to Window seat addict
*I DO NOT DO FLIGHT REVIEWS!*
I have been fortunate to be given a pass to visit the world. I love to fly !
Window seat views are awesome and I will never understand why you would close the shade all the way down when sitting there.
Discover your beautiful world from above a learn how to respect it!
I have dedicated myself to recording every flight I take but its difficult as I often have a middle seat assigned since I always fly standby.
My videos are not made to be informative in any way.
The music featured in my videos is what I usually listen to in my headphones when I'm recording videos.
Some of them are short some others mini movies.
I make them just for fun and share them with you. I hope you enjoy them!
I mostly record with an Iphone 6s, then Iphone X and now Iphone 12pro and gopro 9. Some videos are 4k some are 1080p. I hope you enjoy the views and keep that window shade up!!
Help my channel grow, like and subscribe! Thank you!

Antigua, the capital of the Captaincy-General of Guatemala, was founded in the early 16th century. Built 1,500 m above sea-level, in an earthquake-prone region, it was largely destroyed by an earthquake in 1773 but its principal monuments are still preserved as ruins. In the space of under three centuries the city, which was built on a grid pattern inspired by the Italian Renaissance, acquired ...

Only as dangerous as you make it. Go too slow and you force people to pass you and that can get you sideswiped or involved in an accident. If too scared to drive it, have someone else drive it, or at least pull over every few miles where you can to let others pass. I have driving that road many times, since I used to off-road in Ouray a few times each year I lived in Moab UT (just 2.5 hours away).
Hi! Nice images! Can you tell me what days in april the footage was taken? Thanks!
Hi April 24th and 25th 2021.
@@WINDOWSEATADDICT Thanks! I was thinking about drive this section on april 10-12th, what do you think about the road conditions?
@@mateusdamianimonteiro I’d imagine they would be ok. There will be snow but I doubt there would be any on the road.
@@WINDOWSEATADDICT Thank you, my friend! =)
@@mateusdamianimonteiro drive carefully! The scenery is very distracting!
Beautiful video - nicely edited with real sounds! Change of scenery and weather from DC to Essex is breathtaking. Did the hotel provide the Ice hole bath facility?
Well Thank you so much. I really enjoyed my first trip on Amtrak. When those two girls showed up, I thought they were going to have a picnic. Then I saw them in the water. 🥶🥶
Kinda impressing that you can see the Pacific and the Andes at the same time from the airplane at some point. Kinda tells you what a narrow country Chile really is.
Nice video of most of the route. 11 years ago I did a Green Mountain RR ride along the Connecticut River. A rainy fall day but certainly no frozen over snow covered river.
The last 15 minutes or so were like train ASMR. I loved it! Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed that. I kept the music off just for that :)
Hi ..a very nice video! Did the train stop 🚏 n Berlin, between Meriden and Hartford? I use to get on trains there a lot.
どことなく日本の景色に似てるよな😂
I’d love to go to Japan!
Great video! Thank you very much for sharing your impressions! Is it possible to use Amtrak’s US Rail pass for the trip or do you need an extra reservation?
Thank you ! I would imagine you can but better check with Amtrak to be be sure.
It's been about 40 years since I've taken that drive but remember it being breathtakingly scary!
Your editing is all over the place. After leaving New Haven you showed the backup move out of Springfield, then rear window shots of the Conn River Line leaving Springfield, then suddenly we were back in New Haven/North Haven.
Is this what civilization has come to?
Nice to have a travel log without all the silly, dull dialog of many travel videos, and without people showing their face all the time. Thanks for taking us along with you on this ride.
Thanks for the ride my friend
Glad you liked it!
If it's a replica, then why is it half the size of the original?
Umm? What is the replica? The bell?
This is one of the most peaceful videos we have seen. I want to take my wife on this train in October. I really enjoy the music with the train sounds in the background. Really Awesome job putting this together for us.
Thanks Joe! I really appreciate the nice feedback! And I'm glad you were able to capture the feeling of the video. Hopefully I'll be able to publish a new one similar to that one in a couple weeks. Thanks again.
Great video. AMTRAK is a great way to see America. We flew from London England to New York just to ride the AMTRAK Vermonter to St. Albans, Vermont for my 50th birthday. My wife also chose AMTRAK for her 50th birthday, with us flying to Toronto, before taking the AMTRAK Maple Leaf to New York. Both recommended journeys. Very scenic. We have also done all five rail routes in Alaska and all rail lines in Canada (except Churchill). Plus every rail line in Britain, Ireland, Portugal, Norway and most of Europe. You can easily get hooked.
Thank you ! Amtrak is great. But the distances here are so vast. I’ll check into the other journeys you recommend !
@@WINDOWSEATADDICT The Maple Leaf has 5 Amfleet 1 Coaches, and is hauled by a P42DC from Toronto. The route follows the northern, then the west shore of Lake Ontario, then crosses the Whirlpool Rapids Bridge at Niagara Falls, then Lake Erie. At Albany, they swap the P42DC for a P32-AC-DM (with third rail shoes for the electric third rail supply under the River Hudson). But on the day we did it, we had P32-AC-DM + P42DC + P42DC (11,700 hp). Whoosh ! LOL ! The routes does the Hudson Valley and that is very nice too. The Vermonter has an ACS-64 as far as New Haven CT, and a P42DC to St Albans, VT. The line is very scenic and the P42DC gets up to 110 mph near Hartford. We found a delightful B&B in St Albans. They picked us up from the station, and drove us back to the station too. Being a bird watcher, I loved seeing 40 new species in their garden, including the Ruby Throated Hummingbird, which is like a hornet in size. St Albans VT is very pretty, has nice people, several large churches, a railroad roundhouse, the 14th Star Brewery, some great cafes and great restaurants. TH-camr Jersey Johnnie (from New Jersey) has done several videos of the Vermonter, but he keeps getting off at White River Junction. I keep telling him St Albans is better, but I suppose, he has his reasons. Safe travels ! Regards. Vic
@@vicsams4431 I see you’re well informed!! Thank you !
@@WINDOWSEATADDICT I held a senior position in railway operations. National Operations Standards Manager for England, Wales and Scotland. Also had some EU involvement. Ridden with the loco engineer (train driver) in Britain and most European countries, plus Canada, and even got to drive a train at speed in Hungary. If you have any questions, just ask. Always happy to help. I loved St. Albans, VT. The folks are so nice. I feel most Brits don't get to sample the "real" America. They all go to New York City and think the whole country is like that. Mind you, Americans do the same over here. "I have 'done' Britain, I've been to London." (Yep the dirty city.) The train allows you to explore. 15 of us did a 12 trip covering the entire Alaska Railroad (Fairbanks, Seward and Whittier), plus the Tanana Valley Railroad and the entire White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad (Skagway to Carcross, Yukon Territory). 15,000 miles. 10 days up at 5 a.m. 2 days up at 4 a.m. 2 nights back at the hotel at 2 a.m. Jetlag lasted SIX WEEKS ! 27 trains, 27 buses, 3 x 7 hour sea voyages, and 5 flights. Wildlife like no other. Eagles, Gyrfalcons, sea birds, whales, sealions, dolphins, moose, bears, mountain goat, big horn sheep. You name it, we saw it. Most remote railroad in North America , I have done, is the Tshiuetin Railroad from Sept Iles, Province Quebec to Schefferville, Province Quebec, across the wilds of Newfoundland and Labrador. The line makes the Alaska Railroad look almost urban. It goes 357 miles north of any road. The train is the only way in or out (except for a small airstrip). In winter, Schefferville goes down to minus 63 !! Even when we were there in July, the snow had not melted. By comparison, Alaska is only minus 40 in the winter, and has a highway and a pipeline from Fairbanks to Anchorage and an international airport at both ends. I got talking to the staff, and managed to get invited aboard the F40PH-2, seeing wolves and bears cross the tracks as the train approached. I dare you to find it on Google Maps. It is rather remote. We flew to Sept Iles, from Montreal. The line is owned by the Quebec North Shore and Labrador, and the QNSL operate the third heaviest freight trains in the world, at 35,000 tons conveying iron ore. Spectacular scenery. One of the greatest runs in North America, yet no one knows about it. It is a well kept secret.
Yes lovely seen
Thanks for the tour of the tunnels I have not been there for a while though 😂
Hahaha! They’re still there!!
The Vermonter goes to Essex which is outside or Burlington, you need the Ethan Allen line to be in Burlington
At the time I recorded this and published it, the Ethan Allen was not in service.
i live 500 feet from wrj on the vermonter
Way back, I rode the Montréaler in the early 1990s, it was roughly the same route, except it turned left from the North East Corridor at new London. (and back then, all trains headed north of new Haven had to change locos). When you were first thrown out of the back, were you in the vestibule and "outside" with no door"window between you and the back? Towards the end of video, I take it you were inside the car with the door to vestibule between the camera and vestibule, so within safe boundaries? When crew changed, did you ask for permission and they were just as strongly "NO" as the first time?
The crew changed and they were not really concerned with me making videos in the vestibule. I think this crew knew how to « read the room «
Love this drive. Driven it quite a few times.
Be nice if they still made the run to Montreal.
Me too! That would be awesome!
I love that beautiful view of NYC, and I mean I really do. :)
Thank you

Just curious, in which month was this VLOG filmed?
February 28th 2022
@@WINDOWSEATADDICT Thanks, missed that at the beginning of the VLOG. Stunning snow scenery.
Can you see VT State Capitol (State House) in Montpelier, VT from train? Wow.. I'm from Houston too lol
It was already dark when I got to Vermont so I don't really know. Hello neighbor!!
Thanks for the nice video. I rode the Vermonter several years ago and agree it is a nice scenic ride and is a great way to travel through the snowy winters you can get in New England. I rode from Philadelphia to White River Junction to meet a friend to ski in the area. By the way Amtrak has now added a train that serves Burlington but only starts in New York City. So you would have to change trains at NYC but you would not have to get a ride from the other station to Burlington.
Thank you ! And thanks for the info!
This was actually one of ur best videos... very cool P.
Thank you !!
So it looks like overall the coach seats arent much smaller than the business class? Is it worth the extra money?
The coach seats are very comfortable. With great legroom and recline. I got a business seat because I wanted to access the back window.
Very cool views. I was just in Alamogordo a few weeks ago and already miss it.
Thank you. It’s an intriguing place!
In the food car
The lady who is working in the food is my friend, I know her😄
She was nice to me. She worked the whole trip, over 12hours. Tell her she’s on TH-cam!😂 and that I said hi!
So do I. I ran into her five times since the Vermonter’s restart. She is very cordial and kept me in great company throughout the last five trips I rode on with her working the train.
Nice video! Not sure if you mentioned it, but was your arrival delayed?
Thank you ! We were right on time. I was impressed!
@@WINDOWSEATADDICT Awesome! Planning on taking the route up from DC this fall for a wedding, so that's helpful info.
Should be absolutely gorgeous in the fall
@@WINDOWSEATADDICT definitely. I'm really looking forward to it! Loved the shot out the back with the blowing snow btw.
@@taylorsmith4758 Thank you. I have a short on it as well. Check it out!
An-225 WOW amazing
It was the one and only .. now gone 😞
I’ve driven this, and I can attest to how crazy and mind-blowingly beautiful it was.
Several years ago my husband and I drove through the Rockies from Arizona to see our son in grand junction, Colorado. That was the scariest ride I have ever been on. It was Christmas eve and we actually drove under a frozen wsterfall
if ya like exploring old old grave yards and you go to silverton ,ya must explore the grave yard ..its out of town on a hillside...
that strecth from silverton to grand junction is called the million dollar highway
That has got to be one of the most gorgeous drives I’ve ever seen! It’s definitely on my to-do list!
Thank you so much ❤️

I live on this road ,, I've traveled it many many times when there is 3 inches of ice on Red Mountain pass ,,,some of the most beautiful land on Earth
Drove this years ago in a 35’ motor home. In a thunderstorm. White knuckling it for sure
I did this drive at 8PM and it was dark only my car was their, I thought I will never make it to the end, I was 50 years old when started that night and at the end of the highway I felt like I'm 80 years old 😁
Haha! I would never do this drive at night!
We just did this drive about three days ago 3/13/22. Its the scariest thing I've been through. So beautiful though!
Thanks for the view. Have been through there a few times but usually at nite. to avoid traffic. The hair pin turns or a bit hairy pulling a 53' trailer some u DON'T get to enjoy the scenery.
Stunning Alps and Lake Como Glad you enjoyed your experience onboard United
Do you ever see any cyclist 🚴♂️ out there looks beautiful
