Beg, Steal or Borrow performed at Podunk Bluegrass Festival. We were fortunate to get to sit down with them and catch up. This amazing band from Vermont has recently put out an original album. They started out in 2013 as a cover band of Old and in the Way. An amazing "Must See" Band

This video is about Fiddlin' Ray Bruckman of Jakobs Ferry Stragglers
I wish he'd make a new banjo here and there. But I guess everyone needs to retire at some point. lol
Gary took Chris Stapleton's place in the Steeldrivers.
This interviewer does it like i and many others converse, we interrupt the person speaking (Sierra) cause we don't want to forget our question or statement. But it is rude, annoying, but often forgiven, she would immediately stop when he interrupted, many times people keep talking when they still have something they feel is important to finish. So you have 2 people talking at once. The solution is jot down a word or two that you can then go to that question or statement that you would have otherwise interrupted with. Or don't worry about it just ask or speak what comes to mind AFTER THE PERSON IS DONE SPEAKING and give it a half second cause sometimes a person will remember something else to say. Lets all learn to listen and speak one at a tme. I'm preaching to myself probably more than anybody else.
I miss Jenni😢😢❤
Wow, so you took lessons at Harley's Music?
Bub is the coolest
GMBR, in mid-Aug, is about as good as it gets. Great choice of talent. Even momentary heavy rain drains readily, so who cares. Great scenery, just E of Mt. Equinox.
Cause Mr.Charlie told me so
A nice guy with a true passion for excellence. Hats off to Geoff.
What is the name of the tune that he plays at the beginning?? I can’t find it anywhere!
It's a fancy version of Billy in the Lowdown. He plays the same song later (and much slower) with his student.
Genius. No other word for Justin.
Absolutely loved this!
Interested in doing F-O-H Sound for the Podunk Bluegrass Festival
Wonderful Band always on point….☮️🎶🔛🌎
Wise words from the boss
Great to hear from John Lawless. I still listen to "When Does the Fun Start?" on the original vinyl! I miss John and the Nothin' Doin' Band's performances at the Jewish Mother every week, way back when neither of our heads were grey-haired.
Also, very nice to the guy budding in to much. Super nice of Justin to do the interview.
No doubt, the most handy guy to have around. Hand him something. He'll play it better than most can.
The piece Jerry has called Cannonball Blues was recorded in 1965 by Tom Rush - and was called "Solid Gone." He mostly copied Bukka White's version of it - with a few things of his own thrown in. I still have the (vinyl) LP - "Tom Rush" - self-titled. The album cover is a photo of him standing on a hill overlooking what looks like a train-yard.
LOL.. THEY MET AT A PHISH SHOW?? thats freakin hilarious
Awesome Scott!! Thx!! Right before you you brought him over for "homebrew FrYdAy" 🍻
Notice the proudly secular, non religious intellectual flashing FreeWill Mason hand signs the entire interview. Ah, he does worship something.......
The first Billy Strings video I saw was the Shady Grove set of Doc Watson’s music. Had always been a Doc Watson fan. I’m a lefty bassist and I liked that you were just learning those Doc Watson songs, as Billy said, “right here, right now. You don’t need any practices; it’s just jazz…” It’s funny, whenever I hit a bad note, I call it a jazz note. LOL
I'm sorry. Pete will soon learn the difference between living without Jesus and dying without Jesus
Don't be sorry Pete is just using his critical thinking. Im atheist myself.
Just saw them Friday night. Unbelievably tight.
Watching her facial expressions is such a great joy!
So freaking happy happy you so did.. 🙃🙃🌵💚🕺🎸🎸🎻😀🌠🙃🙃🎵🎶🎤🎤🪕
This is sooo freaking wicked sweet.. absolutely love. You
Billy always brings a huge smile to my face whether... playing... singing...or talking.
wow!!! Love you all👍
People's queer thing
Just and I told the boy thanks and he took off like a rocket
Great interview. Love Royal and Billy strings band
Can't get over that he left LRB,but oh Well that just gives us all yet another top notch bluegrass band, and we do need that in bluegrass.
Seems like such a chill dude
Children change everything!
The fact these guys met is nothing less than fate, faith, and a miracle! To just think he could of missed that phish show and never met Billy and the rest is how crucial fate can be. He's too humble cuz they are Rockstars, Even back then! Bmfs will be Legends forever
She said "I'll attempt it".......hilarious. lol
Pete is an awesome individual and obviously an amazing player. God has purpose for all of us and he wanted Pete to pass on his gift to thousands of players. Glad to have been to 2 of his camps and learned much from him.
Pete is an Atheist and humanist. And I love him for that
God didn't have a plan for all the dead people on the plane.? There most likely is no god.
So glad that billy liked your playing for you fit right in. Your a great player and like you said" you all have a chemistry that you guys all share. It would be nice to hear some solo stuff .l think we would appreciate. That's after you get on your bike and enjoy yourself. You most diffenitly earned it.
Yes I'm the same I have stage fright and don't like being in front of cameras either. Then the second something goes wrong everybody turns around and looks at you when it's nit even always your fault!
Jake Workman and Trey Hensley are the best in the business today! No one like them. Clean cut and normal.
And don’t forget Josh Williams
And billy strings
Del yeah man, tubes give me knucks
incredible bassist. I woulda sworn he was classically trained. he drives such a perfect beat.
This was a great interview/ interaction! 2 kind people, thanks.
Frankfort or West Frankfort Illinois???
Awesome talent.. stumbled on this by accident can't stop listening 😁
Justin, can I tech for you?
I don't know how I missed this! Thank you for posting...Geoff is a true legend! I am blessed to have 3 of his banjos 🙂
Great interview!
Questions needed to be prepared to make interview flow more smoothly.
