2022 - PART 2 of 2 -Newbies Guide to Motorhomes on the playa
Hi there, and thanks for checking this out. While it's long, I try and cover everything you need to prep for when taking a rented or newly purchased motorhome. This is part 2 of 2. Please watch part 1 before this.
I recognize that this list is not all inclusive, and will do my best to incorporate any feedback from veterans that can add value (or correct) any of my statements.
If you'd like access to the deck with resources, please access it here: docs.google.com/presentation/d/1BuMBX8s3uf2Qr76AhGurnLeH7blKW65Jw0p_ozMfsz4/edit?usp=sharing
UPDATE: THIS IS FROM THE BURNING MAN WEBSITE:
"RV servicing costs $50 for trailers up to 24′ long, and $60 for one grey and one black tank for RVs that are 25′-35′ long. Each additional or over-sized tank is $30. USS only accepts cash, so plan ahead. You must have a contact person meet the pump-truck at your RV. Keep a space clear for the truck to access your RV; pump hoses cannot reach beyond 30′."
^^^^^^^^ this is subject to change, but still plan on having cash!!
Please keep in mind that this video is intended to guide - it's not perfect and doesn't cover everything, just out here doin my best!

Part 1/2 - Newbies Guide to RV's at Burning Man
มุมมอง 2.9K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Hi all - I hope you find this video valuable (it's long). I have pulled together a ton of resources from online, plus my own experience, to create this content. In this video I cover everything from safety to BM's at BM (bowel movements at Burning Man) and how to avoid having your RV become a poop bomb. To the veterans - I tried my best. If you see anything that I got wrong, please feel free to...

    Hey Andrew, thanks for the info!! Do you have a take on setting up a shade structure over or on a side of the RV?

    • @andforkner
      @andforkner 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Alan! I hope it was helpful!! I've seen some people that are doing aluminet and getting it draped over their RV, but personally, I won't be doing that. When it comes to an actual shade structure, I will not be building one around my RV based on mines size. It's just too tall and long to try and build one that I'd feel comfortable blowing around in the wind + generator running and proper exhaust. What size RV are you in?

      @@andforkner We are in 38ft motorhome. I saw the aluminet draped over, with folded chair/tables to provide air flow space, still unsure on that front and on how to securely tie it to the floor. First time with a motorhome so u’r tips are super appreciated! Loved the videos!

      *Chairs/tables on the roof close to the A/C exhausts, but under the aluminet.

      Whoo, that's a big RV! Excited for ya. I'm gonna try and suffer through this year without a shade and see how it does, and take a look around at how other people are doing it in preparation for next year.

      Hey Kristin! I hope you found it helpful and got a nugget or two out of it that helps your planning and preparation. Thanks for taking the time to watch it, I tried to be as concise as possible. The deck in the video description has been updated as more stuff crosses my mind, but the ethos is the same. Have a great burn and hope to see you there!

    I’m a camp lead for BED we are one of the consent groups on playa. We just got access to a few more tickets for volunteers. If consent is something you’re interested HMU for an interview.
