You may have valid grievances, but the opportunity will be lost if you engage in emotional arguments that lack an objective foundation. I am neither South African nor Nigerian (I'm Kenyan), but have got this to say: it is true that South Africans have an issue with black immigrants. This may have self-hate among its reasons to some degree, but to be honest, black immigrants are the ones that compete them directly for resources, live in their spaces, and form the overwhelming majority of the immigrants, which makes them more visible and an easy target. Until we have White and Brown folks meeting the same criteria, it won't be a fair comparison. Secondly, Nigerians have to be honest with themselves and ask themselves why they are picked out not just in South Africa, but many other countries. For as long as Nigerians will continue paying a blind eye to their own deficiencies that differentiate them from other Africans, they will continue seeing the same results and wondering when the rain started beating them. Thirdly, it is immoral to cry about unfair treatment, yet call for the unfair (or bad) treatment of others. I see this happening a lot, but it reeks of hypocrisy to lambast white people while bemoaning discrimination against oneself. It is more reasonable to simply agitate for Xenophobia to stop, without asking for Black Africans to be given more privileges over whites. I hope the white lady that won Miss SA does not come under the same vitriol meted on Chidimma, in the same manner I would prefer not Chidimma to be subject to abuse. Lastly, while complaining about South Africans, we need to ask ourselves why we ran away from our countries to start with. Are South Africans the ones that kicked out the Nigerians, Kenyans, Congolese, etc from the countries? How many Nigerians die yearly in the hands of South Africans, compared to Nigerians that die in the hands of fellow Nigerians in the Northern states? Same question for the Congolese and the Eastern DRC? If Nigerians are better people than the Xenophobic South Africans, what is this that I hear about Biafra movement and its mission? Why are the Igbo so eager to break away from their loving brothers? Hypothetically-speaking, would Nigerians be so kind to share scarce resources with an immigrating population, if they were in the same position of heavy contention for the same? This also is the reason African leaders are defenceless to call things out when their citizens are mistreated abroad - you simply cannot complain that your neighbour is mistreating a child who you mistreated so badly in the first place, that he ran away from home.

We are not jealous of you, you are welcome if you have legitimate papers, but most of you are here illegally, the fact remains that especially Nigerian men are the criminals in our country, if your men are so hard working, why do they not stay in your country and work hard there?
