May I ask if the Sunbury Junior Singers was with the combine singing company during the video
God bless the Salvation Army! What a wonderful p proclamation of the simple truths of the gospel!
Only just caught up with this. The piece is a classic indeed and one of my favourites. So well played by a corps band.
Nice articulations on the last variation. 👌
Nice playing by a nice Christian gentleman
That's my dad :) The reason I am a musician. He inspires me every day.
And no comments for this incredibly beautiful rendition of one of the most moving compositions ever written? This soloist is also gifted beyond words - beyond world class.
So lovely to see that wonderful man and true Salvationist. Through his writing of the musicals I have come back to the Army after being away for as long as I was a Salvationist and a strange thing.happened whilst watchinv. I am planning to sew a sampler of the words of one of the General's songs and am planning to add some images printed onto fabric. Believd it or not I was planning to take them from the fundrsising appeal the General mentioned, I feel I have his permission now. God bless The Salvation Army whdrever it works.
Please tell us, what is the background music?
Storm the forts of darkness (William Himes) Is in there! As is "there is power in the blood" Hope that helps Although i suspect its a unique arrangement of band music, some band anoraque will be along soon im sure.
It’s trailblazers as recorded by the household troops band.
Hallelujah
great performance...
this sure brought back memories my oldest son and oldest Daughter were dedicated at chalk farm..I was in the Junior band and singing company ..my mum was a solider there and went out pub booming with the war cry ..after I attended wood green and Archway ..my God mother served all her life at Chalk farm her name was sissy webb ..I miss the Salvation Army in UK its not the same being in the USA New hampshire ...when I lived in Switzerland I attended Adelboden SA ..
Wonderful! Where did you find the sheet music?
very good playing
I used to play for this band as a junior soldier so unless you kno the people in the band less criticism im sorry if I sound offensive
I am 100% with you!! Congrats!!
No comments Am I really the first ?? Well such delightful playing Bravo and I love this by a Salvation Army Band but that was no less stirring :-)
Härligt att höra en vacker melodi spelas med känsla.
From the march "Marching Onward" by Ivor Bosanko.
yeah i've heard better trombone playing in my time too
A most wonderful selection of heartwarming songs for an octogenarian who loves Eric Ball´s compositions. And the playing is fine, too! Anders B. Faksvåg, Kristiansand S, Norway
The bass player should really be blowing into his bass for more of the wavy effect
my salvation army is doin this im on trombone love the rule brittannia part
Why do people talk whilst bands are playing, I find it really annoying and very rude.
this conductor is pure class, give this man a medal. Brilliant, however the people playing the trombones let the piece down, but i would pay top money to see this genius outstanding
This was arranged by Dean Jones.
Nice solo , I`ve played it too a few years ago
Is this Jimmy Williams??? Who was at Wandsworth back in the late 1970's ?
I always loved hearing the Regent Hall songsters sing this before we moved from London ( My wife sang with them so maybe I'm a little biased)
Well I have made a cover of it, although no where near as good... its still there!
Beautiful!!! One of the nicest songsters who have sung this! Pianist was good aswell, played with feeling.
Id love someone to play a piano arrangement of it and a vocal arrangement, this song is underestimated ! I recently purchased a CD with this song on, because of this song ! Meh, I suppose I could play it, but I want to hear it by a professional.
Yes, same here no other version, piano version is very nice to. Definitely going to introduce this forgotten Godly peice of art to the church
We are singing it at the Salvation Army Women's Camp in June as part of the Call to Worship at Star Lake. This is the only thing I have found on this song
Im getting to really like this song. - I cant find anyone who sings it though.
Great! I enjoyed this very much. Blessings! Gary Laws (USA)
Great music. Thank you! Gary Laws (USA)
Thanks! Great music. Have a Blessed Christmas! Gary Laws (USA)
Great music, great march, great singing. Blessings! Gary Laws (USA)
Too much talking in the background. I find it somehow disrespectful... but good quality playing.
amazing footage, i really enjoyed that
