it's really refreshing to see detailed comments on red velvet's vocals from people who have had vocal training. very relatable that you both loved seulgi, her voice is literally honey that melts you <3 it's also interesting to see what you both had to say for irene and yeri compared to stronger vocalists like wendy and seulgi, always appreciate honest opinions over trying to suck up to some fans who expect you to like everything so hope you can ignore those bad comments. red velvet are excellent singers and performers but they can't always be perfect, i personally love these behind videos too since they seem more like the real deal when you see them try many times to get the lines right. would love to see more mv and recording behind reactions from you guys!! maybe of ive (after like, love dive), girls' generation (closer) or others! subscribed and looking forward to more of your nerdy reviews!

The nasal tone is a cultural level preference. It is deeply routed in "classical" Japanese and Korean singing. It is probably also common in most of the other oriental styles, but I do not have enough background in those styles to say for sure. Growing up in Canada, it took me a long time to get accustomed to it. To this day I would not say that I particularly "like" it. I don't "mind" it. The reason that you like Wendy's voice tone is because she was raised mainly in Canada (actually not very far from me), so she sings mainly in a "western" vocal style. She could walk on a Broadway stage and people would not know that she was a K-pop star.

Honestamente riot se quedó corto con este himno para el Worlds, no es una canción mala a decir verdad pero no es algo que está a la altura de un evento de tal magnitud como lo es siempre Worlds. Siento que eventos como Star guardians tuvieron mucha mejor producción musical, sacaron todo un álbum llamado sessions: taliyah y son buenas canciones y el tema que hicieron con porter Robinson "everything goes on" es tremendo. No sabemos que pasó está vez con el himno de worlds pero lo único que se puede hacer es esperar que el de este año sea mejor

Wendy changes her voice to match other members or other artists in duets. She carefully sets her tone so it feels natural with her partner. She can easily overpower other singers, but she never does. In Red Velvet, she works her tone to make transitions smooth between voices. If she's after Joy, for example, her initial notes matches Joy's tone, and then morphs it smoothly onto her own round powerful tone. In this video, you can actually see her doing that in the practice room. There she is working her tone to match Seulgi and make beautiful transitions and harmonics. Wendy is in absolute control of her instrument. She's a prodigy.

Mamamoo has released their 12th mini-album titled 'MIC ON’ on Oct 11 with title track “ILLELLA” , this is a fun and chill ablum ,they will be promoting on music shows and many other ways as OT4. They are also preparing for Domestic and Overseas performance as well.

I think one of the reasons why Wendy was being particularly critical of her own performance was because this was her first comeback after a year long hiatus due to her injury where she broke her jaw. So I imagine she had to spend a lot of time re-training and working up the strength to be able to sing professionally again.

You might like the channel that goes by Chuther. She’s a vocal teacher (I think) and her way of describing Red Velvet’s voices is spot on. I like to say the girls sound like their representative fruits.
