Hi, I’ve been playing FIFA/EA for many years, but one thing I’ve never managed to improve on is defending. My main problem is that I’m always one step behind. I chase the opponent’s CM with my own, but once they make a pass, their player ends up one-on-one with my two CBs. I’m then forced to use them to defend, which often leads to mistakes and goals against me. Since the latest patch, I feel like I’m constantly being overrun by counterattacks. What tactics are meta right now? Is short pass, counter, or balanced the best to use with the latest patch? And what depth should I set for the defensive line? Looking forward to any helpful advice!

I dont know who u are, nothing but a massive thx❤, I had been struggling on my div4 early matches, almost gave up. I packed 93 cruyff week ago, put him in ST, use him as advance forward in 442 formation with no ++ and i can say that his run was TERRIBLE, i have no idea how to use him properly. I almost used him as a fodder for my SBC ngl, Then i took a chance to change formation and found your video, Cruyff as a CAM with shadow striker is a BEAST, and you give me the feeling of “right gameplan” for the first time. I have no doubt when i was 1nill 2nill down cuz all you need to do is trust and stick with the plan. The more u get this feeling…the more u will enjoy of this game. I ended up with scored 6 7 8 goals for like 5 matches in a row, the way 3 4 3 keeps the ball forward is amazing. So i make a way through div3 in like 2 hours. You are amazing and keep doing this video. Thanks again❤

I quit 8 weeks ago the earliest ive ever quit , every game became a sweat fest when matchmaking became broken in rivals I was div 5 matching div 1/2 players , they killed friendlies by making it Elo based , constantly matching higher tiered players , they basically killed the game by November , awful edition

This tactic is the best tactic that I have used so far in my manager career mode.

That’s ok. What I’m trying to say is: the header of the striker is always too weak or the 6.3 foot player loses header towars a 5.0 foot women defender or the ball flies above the bar… how can this be with a 6.3 stiker with power header plus, 99 heading, 99 jumping???

Going forward fun. Defensively your always open. Only the defenders an one CDM help defend.
