Bikes&Biscuits

Join Martyn and Andy having fun with motorbikes. We grew up on motorbikes from about the age of 12. Since then we've ridden motorbikes, restored bikes, tinkered with bikes, built project bikes, taught kids about riding and fixings motorcycles and generally had a good laugh! We also do like a coffee ( or tea) and a biscuit!
Yamaha DT125 LC MK1 1982 - And Funny Motorcycle Stories
In this video, I take you through the story of my classic 1982 Yamaha DT125LC Mk1, a bike I recently got out of my shed! 🚲💨
I also share some funny stories from the past, including the time I did a wheelie right in front of the police... and they actually let me off because they were so impressed! 😂👮♂️
I'll say why I bought this motorbike and show you what restoration work needs doing, plus, watch as I start it up and let you hear that iconic two-stroke engine DT sound.

Suzuki AS50 - Scrapheap Scrambler
มุมมอง 21121 วันที่ผ่านมา
Whats In Martyn's Shed ? See this Suzuki AS50 from 1969 which I bought to do a motorcycle restoration project. It had sat in a Garage in London for over 25 years covered in piles of blankets and boxes. This model is the first motorbike I learned to ride so has nostalgia value to me. We used to ride on Scrap- heap Scramblers. Converting anything we could find to a scrambler motorbike! This was t...

มุมมอง 54หลายเดือนก่อน
We found this Honda c90 in a garage covered in blankets. Left there since 1972! that's 52 years. All we did was put petrol in and put a fresh battery. Will it run ?? #Shorts #short #shortsvideo #shortsfeed
C90 Barn find 1968- Stored 52 Years! - Will it Run ?
มุมมอง 31Kหลายเดือนก่อน
See this Motorcycle Restoration. We found a Honda C90 from 1968 in a garage. It had been standing for 52 years since 1972. The previous owner bought it new in the UK and used it to commute to work and then parked it up in 1972 when he had his first child and got a car. There it sat ever since then. In this video we restore the lovely scooter to a running condition and find some surprises along ...
Great channel idea. It will go well. My problem is the sound. I can't hear you. Cheers Phil
I had a DT125 LC, but a later model. Was great, took all the abuse I gave it. Never really put a spanner on it. Just a shame you couldn't buy the powervalve kits at the time.
Nice one Martyn. I had a DT250 for a while. Couldn't really get on with it, so bought ex British Enduro champ Paul Edmondson's RM250 and competed in Enduros for a couple of years. Great fun : open her up and hang on for dear life!
I preferred the 1978/79 version of this bike, it has brought back some wonderful memories, days we will never see again unfortunately.
Ah, they are nice bikes! I had a DT 175 Enduro. Wish I didn't sell it now! Thanks so much for watching!
Nice. Umm your camera person has loud breath😂
Haha. That's so true! I thought that when I was editing the vid!
Nice video! That bike looks cool I really want to ride it.. Lovely Shed, too 💕
Ah! Thank you. You can ride it one day! 😉
Is there not some laws about driving without tax, insurance, MOT, helmets or am I missing something
This brings back memories. I had use of my brother's F Reg C50 as a first ride for me :)
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Getting a decent number of views!
Yeah. C90 is a popular bike. Honda sold massive amounts of them!
Quality video lads
Ah thanks Chris!
Maybe wear a crash helmet next time you take her out. Nice video!
Obvious it would start its a Honda cub they were bullet proof
They really were! Amazing little bikes!
My first bike was a green Honda SS50 (PDX 680R) ! Lovely little bit of nostalgia there, Martyn.
Thanks! I also had an SS50. They are cute bikes too!
Not seen IT 175 in years..
We are going to do a video soon on the IT175. Look out for it! Awesome bikes!
Got to love an old bogseat 90 👍
For sure!!
well done lads!
Thanks!
Love that bike
Ah. Thanks Mark!!
Had an identical one , same colour , still have a yellow C70 with just 3,900 miles.!.The C50 is very capable of course and the original but a bit of a slug, but the C70 & 90 are simply incredible machines that punch well above their weight , especially with Honda quality but my favourite all - rounder is the C70 from the early to mid 1970s.
Yes the C50 is a bit slow! The C90 is very ridable though. Might try and get a C70 and do a video on that
Repent to Jesus Christ! Luke 5:32 King James Version 32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Luke 13:3 King James Version 3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
Jesus might have rode a Honda but "When David slew Goliath, his Triumph was heard through out the land !" :)
@zenzen9131 Hi there. Are you a sinner?
Aye its a honda
Should start first kick
Haha. Would have been great!!
Very nice biscuit where's mine!
Hiya John! I promise Ill bring some biscuits when I come and see ya!
Great handwriting.
Thanks!!
A lovely example. I’m actually looking at buying one.! I’m nearly 60 and this was the first bik bi was in the road with. Great memories 👌
Oh thatsgreat! They are hard to find. Have you had any luck yet ?
a honda never diessssssssssssssssssssssssssss
It does seem that way!
Had a c90 in that exact colour as a kid sgf49f eas the reg i bought it for a tenner had to clean the carbs and the fueltank and take off the back box and luggage rack i put knobblie tyres on it too and trimmed the rear mudguard as it was rusty i used that bike for 3 years over the feilds and trails and sold it after its still about too in my mates garage .
That's a great story. Love that you bought it for £10 ! Thanks!
@@Bikes_And_Biscuits back then i got given loads of motorcycles bout 50%of them honda cubs if there was an old rusty motorcycle in a garden id knock on the door and enquire if it was for sale or if they wanted it removed for free id filled up my front garden with old motorcycles vespas ,honda cubs old mz, motorcross bikes from the 60s and 70s and more i only paid for about 6 bikes and got given the rest id ride them till they broke and then strip them out and make a frankenstein bike from the parts was good with the scrappers too id trade stuff for intresting motorcycles and parts I loved the 80s/90s it was a great time where nothing realy cost much 🤘
Haha. Thats great! Thats sounds very similar to what we used to do. We would build bikes from all sorts of parts. We put a RD400 engine in a Yamaha RS125 once and also turned it into an off road bike. That was a bit of beast!
@Bikes_And_Biscuits i put a honda super dream 400cc into a 60s go cart and used vespa split rims with knobblie tyres on them as it was driven off road it had no suspension at all but a seriously padded seat lol ,that thing ripped 🤘
All working after 52 years no surprise Did check for oil.
We did! yes. Thank you for watching!
well done lads, brilliant.
Thanks!
Absolutely bloody lovely!
Thank you!
I had the same one exactly them same in 76 when a way 16, wish I still had it.
Honda 50 70 and 90 best selling bikes in the world its my first bike fell in love with 2 qiud a week petrol got me every were loved that bike great video ❤
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! They are super cheap to run indeed!
C90 made a great ‘cheap’ dirt bike in the 80’s. 😎
So true! They take beating and keep going somehow.
Had loads as a kid they cost bout a tenner or i was given a few rusty ones too but they allways ran after a go over i had about 20+ in my parents front garden and it was fun as a 12 year old to ride to the feilds with your mates and spend all weekend scrambleing and camping out we modded them too different forks trike engines (125cc)and different swingarms /shocks was all good fun .
Please" put a crash helmet on!!
Loved it ……what a bike ….bit of a national treasure 🎉
Thanks! Yeah it did feel a bit like that!
I passed my bike test on this model. Then 500 dohc honda twin. Lastly BMW R1200R.
That's quite a jump! C90 to Honda 500! 😄
Of cause it will run it's honda
You are right !!
@Bikes_And_Biscuits had Honda all my life
Great reliable bikes
Yes they are!
Those things are bulletproof. Last years if you look after them.
Bulletproof is the right word! They are amazing
i HAVENT WATCHED THE VIDEO YET BUT I WOULD BET MY LIFE ON IT THAT IT STARTS I LOVED THEM BIKES🛵🛵🛵🛵🛵
Watch the video! you never know....maybe it doesn't start ( OK, it's a honda c90 so unlikely I guess!)
I could make it like brand new çleaned hundreds of them brillo pads in warm soapy water will remove all rust wont leave scratches
Yes, you're right it probably would but we wanted the small rust dots to stay to preserve the old look. We just used an oily rag mostly. Thanks so much for watching. Hope you enjoyed it!
No compresion
Ngk spark plugs
I like the gear shit click back for first then the rest forward great bikes
Yes they are funny aren't they! I forgot that they have neutral before 2nd, so missed the gear the first couple of times!
They were prone to the back wheel arch rusting had loads of them hondas had a honda C70 REG HEN 147N COOL reg❤
Yes i think they were!
@Bikes_And_Biscuits could hen. 147n been transfered to a car
Im not sure. Not heard of that before.
Lovely looking IT in the garage you lucky bugger
Im going to do a video on te IT175 soon! Watch out for it!
I wouldn’t expect anything less from an old Honda 👍
You're right! I said it would start in 10 kicks but maybe slightly over optimistic after 52 years! haha
My DREAM BIKE !😉
my first bike was identical to that its was a 1976 p reg it had beed rattle can sprayed over in ford tractor blue but where the paint chipped it was that colour they can do over 200mpg
Yes they are so good on fuel!
@ in about 1985 me an my mate set off from huddersfield to whitby which at that time was about 120 mikes its less now due to the road changes he had a ts100 and i had my c90 i filled up and as you will be aware its not a gallon its less she did whitby i ran around for a week then rode home i still had fuel left so well over 250mpg quite simply the best vehicle ever made and the biggest selling vehicle of all time period i now have a r1250 gs adventure but i never forgot my 90
Love that story. Thank you!
The immaculate appearance of the carb interior just goes to show how crap modern day petrol is !. Also , I don't think that the person who commented on the absence of a helmet / tax/ insurance etc was trying to be a jobsworth, he was pointing out the facts as they are re the cops these days ( sadly ).
fantastic bikes
They are!
@@Bikes_And_Biscuits had a few of em when they was 20 25 quid way back , big bucks now
It seems all the bikes that we payed very little for back in the day are big bucks now. It seems even modern "cheap" bikes are not cheap. Cant buy anything for under about £750. So kids cant really buy old scooters or mopeds with a bit of saved up pocket money like I used to.
