Foods that Worsen Inflammation:
All grains, including wheat, barley, rye, rice, quinoa, and oats
Eggs
Dairy
Beans and Legumes
Tofu
Sugar
Processed foods
Artificial sweeteners (Splenda, stevia, Equal aspartame, etc.)
Food additives and thickeners (emulsifiers, artificial colors, and flavors, etc.)
All Omega 6 fats, margarine
Nuts & seeds
Chocolate
Alcohol
Coffee
Nightshade vegetables (white potato, tomatoes, eggplant, okra, hot peppers, sweet bell peppers)
NSAIDs such as ibuprofen (contribute to leaky gut)
Foods that Fight Inflammation:
Meat and poultry, including organ meats: choose antibiotic-free, hormone-free, organic, and grass-fed or pasture-raised, if possible
Fatty fish high in omega-3: wild salmon, sardines, mussels, rainbow trout, Atlantic mackerel
All vegetables, except nightshades
Sweet potatoes and other tubers
All fruits, in moderation (two servings per day)
Fresh & dried herbs
Oils and omega 3 fats: avocado oil, coconut oil, olive oil
Fermented foods: sauerkraut, white kimchi, fermented vegetables
Bone broth (homemade, store-bought doesn't contain important minerals or collagen and has too much sodium

What I eat in a day to maintain my abstinence and weight loss! I follow KaySheppard.com Breakfast: 1 cup cooked grain or starchy vegetable, 1 dairy, 6 oz fruit, 4oz protein.
