The difficulty of the dungeon in the new version feels like hell. The ghouls have extremely high health, and they angrily lunge at you. One careless mistake can lead to a complete party wipe.

Did they change something? For the life of me, I can't get two hit headshots. All it does it exposes the inside of their head (pulsating blue stuff). Yours doesn't seem to have that? Same thing with knifing their heads.

Something i discovered that is very situational, but i could see being used in future runs is a speed tech where you basically just deadzone the side of an enemy as you do a dropkick and before you hit the ground slide . That lock on acceleration will launch you towards the enemy but if you offset the camera correctly you'll just slide past them gaining insane speed.

That first attack, just jump it, you don't need to time some gimmicky bullshit. Every stomp can be jumped.

I figured this out in the base game against the fire giant. I use it to dodge the giant pan sweep he does. I call it the torrent jump 😅

Bro just use torrent. No need to complicate things lol. Doing the whole fight on torrent is the easiest and most likely intended way of fighting these things.

The initial explosion cannot be I-framed as there is a fire floor that comes out. Run away from the initial explosion, and when the fire expands outwards, jump over it. Should look like this: * fire golem jumps and slams * Player runs out of the radius of the explosion * after the explosion, a fire aoe reminiscent of the one he does when he slams each foot individually, will come out after the explosion * Player waits a moment for the explosion to happen and jumps over the the fire aoe as it approaches you. Successful dodge

Yeah I figured this out by just constantly challenging them when my mate kept running away. Was so satisfying knowing I could beat them easily after learning that they are quite easy

You good sir are a genius. Ancient Dragon’s Lightning Strike is the key to beating these dudes. I’d also like to throw in a bit of my own tactic here to make it even easier… Put raptor of the mists AoW on Miséricorde and it’ll let you dodge that great big stomp attack much easier than trying to time it with Torrent. And when he finally goes down from the ancient dragon lighting strikes, use Miséricorde to crit him. It’s straight up cheese, but for an enemy as absurdly tough as this, it deserves to be cheesed. I fought and beat that first one in the starting area 5 minutes into the DLC with nothing but the guts greatsword and lion’s claw… And that’s something I’m glad I’ll never have to do again. Hahaha

This is not meant to suggest the build is bad or anything of the sort, but calling that a fight showcase is a bit... incorrect. It would be more accurate that they showed up and then were quickly vaporized.

What exactly is happening thats giving it such huge damage btw? Unintended shotgunning or multi hits against larger targets?

Showing where to get the other aspects of the build is a nice touch, was using the frost version for a bit and it felt pretty nice

My strategy is to stay between their legs so they can’t use the grab attack, and roll or block any attacks

I run miracles and a lot of ancient dragon bs, including the cragblade and bolt of gransax jw if my charms are optimal, Godfrey icon, Shard of Alexander, lightning scorp, Flocos canvas talisman. Seems optimal if i want to change elements just change scorpion charm but idk could be something better to switch out
