Roger Melin is so cool 😎 It's like he's reading just for me 😁❤
Such an excellent story and I like the narrator. Ty A+ 👍
Thank you for this excellent story. Loved the narration 👏🏼
I read this book a few years ago and have enjoyed listening to it this time.
I did really enjoy this. Thank you A+ 👍
My pleasure!
Sounds like AI. Regardless it's not as awful as some narrations I have endured 🙂.
Sad to listen to an American narrator in this English story.
Narrator just doesn't get it right.
Not my favourite narrator. Why do Americans think they can read non USA books. Good story
Very nice Richard. ! I assume you'll get usual snotty comments from Brits who think these stories should be read by a Laurence Olivier soundalike or someone's who sounds like James Mason..? Ignore them ! I AM British and most of my countrymen - I'm ashamed to say - barely speak comprehensible English . Usually it's some hideous regional accent.... Anyway , keep it up..!! 👍 🇬🇧 !
Sorry ... the reader sounds as he's falling asleep ... increase the speed to 1.25 and its OK. Unless you're listening to this late at night and you want to gently go to sleep.
Speed it up amd then slow it down. Relaxing
Nicely done David !. I would guess you have some experience of a theatrical nature. ? Narration or Voice Over is much more demanding than most of us might imagine...... I tried it once and failed miserably..!!

Secret code?
Wonderful narration, excellent book.❤
Please forgive me but it is refreshing the murdered victim, fiction, non fiction, is not another murdered woman.
😅 I agree
Excellent story. Really excellent! For me, the narration is a little fast, but too slow on 0.75. It did not stop me from listening 😉💗 Very enjoyable. Thank you 🙂
Just a note if you were not aware. There is a possibility to adjust the speed to your own liking - so anything between 0.75 and original speed is also an option. Just click on the "playback speed" and then 'custom' :) I hope that helps.
One long book that is
Thank you.
This is absolutely not AI (which I hate). Books are meant to be read by humans, and this lady has a delightful voice. It was a pleasure to hear her tell the story. 🙂
This book wax excellent and so was the narrator. Thank you!
Let's see . . . two men go to another country to find out the secrets of a closed society. They have no respect for the beliefs of said society/culture and think that they are entitled to the "secrets" because they are English and embody the tenets of colonialism. They lie and infiltrate the society and when they are discovered, have no remorse for what they have done. On the other hand, had indigenous peoples come to England and tried to infiltrate an British "secret society," the English would have been horrified. Maybe they should have stayed home.
Agreed. Wallace was a great talent! Definitely worth a second listen.
Wow 🎉🎉 Great story 😁
This author is new to me... but not Ben Tucker 💙😁
The incomparable Ben Tucker 👍
This was just great ! Ty A + 👍 Roger Melin, excellent here !
Whoever audio engineered the second reading should be sacked. How can you produce this and think you've done a good job? And complain, complain and complain again. It is the only way we get a better world. But that second recording is abysmal. She reads OK.
Another of my favourite narrators ❤
Thank you.
I find Richard's voice wants to put me to sleep Stay. Clear of English authours
Authors
Stay clear of idiots who can't spell...?!
Many thanks. Such a pleasant, clear voice.
A good addition to your audiobook list. I will be seeking out more by this author. Thank you.

Really? Libra vox readers are amateurs who read for free and this lady has a number of other readings on their site. I strongly doubt you are correct, not just because of those facts but also because her intonation Is wildly more subtle than ai achieves.
This is an AI recorded book
Could not put this down. A story that will stay w me for awhile. The author is new to me ❤ Mr Delmar H Dolbier ❤ Huge thanks, A+ Classic !
Ok first 2 minutes, haaard boiled, great stuff....
Mr Melin has been a favourite narrator of mine for many years ❤ ❤
Thank you. I’m enjoying this novel and the narration very much. Highly recommended as an “oldy but goody”!
Sibillant very annoying. Couldn't stick with it. Sorry.
Sibilant misspelled 😱 is very annoying‼️
Brilliant story. I had it wrong 😊. Thank you. Your narration was masterful ❤.
I really like this narrator ❤❤❤
one of the more tolerable librivox amateur readers.
@@dont-want-no-wrench On you go. We're all waiting for your narration!
One of my favourite narrators ❤❤❤
Good story, good narration! Thanks so much!
I really appreciate these volunteers who read. Certainly some are more effective than others, but we can choose to listen or not. This narrator is very comfortable to listen too.
Thanks A+ Classic, this I did thoroughly enjoy ! Robert Kelper clearly had great fun reading it 😊
Thank you, A+ Classic, for a great a wonderful Wallace story ❤ I too liked Howard Skyman reading this !
You are welcome!
A terrific listening experience, I couldn't put it down. Thanks so much A+ Classic ! Yes, Wallace Forever ❤
The tone of the narrator is fine, but he puts pauses where they do not belong. It breaks the flow of reading and listening. Pauses should only occur where there is punctuation.
Fine story Not a narration I like
it's a librivox, so an amateur reader. believe me, coulda been very much worse.
