How to make an Origami Book/Zine from a single sheet of paper
How to make an Origami Book or Zine using a single sheet of paper.
In this video, I show you how to make an origami book or 'zine' by folding a single sheet of paper. You can use any type of paper from printer paper to cartridge paper to make this folded book. This book does not require any staples or glue and is very easy to make. The origami book or 'zine' is very simple and is made only using 5 folds and 1 cut.
This method of making zines allows you to create an 8 page book/zine that once complete can be easily unfolded and photocopied to allow your zine to be easily mass-produced.
Zines can also be an excellent starter or 'do now' activity for art teachers in the classroom. Their small size lends themselves to quick activities such as imagination workouts or mini formative assessment tasks.

Hi you used to be my s1 3d design teacher. A great teacher
Thank you that's lovely to hear. Its been a few years now, I hope you are doing well 😊
Lifesaver! Thank you for this tutorial
Glad it helped!
Yhooo, the fact that I'm writing tmr and know nothing on how to draw makes things worse 😂😂😂😂😢
How can I view the assignments submitted by other students on Microsoft Teams?
🤑🤑
Can you make dark skin tones without starting with brown?
Im writing a test tomorrow, and i need to know how to draw isometric and orthographic drawings, so thank you so much this really helped
Thank you. This is great to be free from 3D software and make it by hand. Much more faster for basic ideas that can later become great projects
focus is the key
Awesome❤
Can you please draw a mug in isometric project
When I used the right side of my brain it started to hurt, so did my eyes. Is that normal?
Oops wrong direction
Thank you so much i am kinda new to the medium this helped so much
Glad it was helpful!

the pencil tucked behind his ear is making me mad
Lol
And he has a pencil in his ear but not losing it he’s losing the pen
Thanks for this! I learned so much practical tips! ❤
Glad it was helpful!
'Awesome, got it'
Why don’t you mention the book and the author you took the concept from? Betty Edwards “Drawing on the right side of the brain”
Simply because I made the video to use for my high school students and I felt it would distract from the instructional value. I also didn't discuss Pablo Picasso's drawing in great detail either. Whilst the technique is included within Betty Edward's book, it is used by art teachers across the world. I was first taught this technique by my high school art teacher as a child and found it helpful - hence it forms part of my lessons to this day.
What is it called with the faucet adapter? Where did you order it from?
I'm not sure what it is called as I didn't order them. My old classroom was once a science classroom and these were used to attached rubber pipes to the taps.
Liked this video. I’m struggling with line control.
Betty edwards put this task in her book ,drawing on the right side of your brain’
She did indeed, it is an excellent book. If you've not already I would recommend buying a copy. 😊
Great video, thanks. Would have loved to see the face you coloured, so that we could see, if not the final product, at least a partially completed product (not obscured by your hand). A time lapse at the end with how you completed it (or even completed just the lower part of the face) would be amazing to finish off this tutorial.
Noted! thanks for the feedback.
Nice, but where is the end result of the portrait? 😮
u r the guy who my professor loves the most bcuz u do all the work while he just recommends ur videos to us isn't that funny 😀
Thanks that's really nice to hear 😊
Wow thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, many thanks ❤❤❤
I CANT DO IT BUT good tutorial 6:41
It takes some practice, I struggled at first too. Good luck 🙂
whose here for dt homework
WAY toooooooo much effort
C'est fantastique ❤
I have an exam today and this saved my life
Thanks. I didn't understood what the book meant, but you explained it perfectly.
Lessons from this video: 1. Focus on the tip of the pen 2. Focus on the target thank tou so much for the video!
hi is it possible to create your own assignment as a student
It is not, you need to be a teacher to access those controls.
Your paintings make me feel like I’m walking in a dream.
Thank you!
Please Make light brown
To make a light brown I would experiment with using a combination of white/brown base (still using the red and yellow as shown). You would probably want to experiment with a range of browns, as different brown pigments do different things when mixed with white.
thanks a lot! my school has assigned a project that requires isometric drawing and this is going to help a lot!
thank u!
Thank you so much, this is really useful as I think it is much better to know how to mix colours than just keep buying specific ones for each project.
Glad i could help 😊
I don’t get it …some talk about shapes other talk about line upside down
Thanks!! I equate drawing to cooking; there are cooks n bakers, cooks can throw whatever into a dish n it comes out tasty . Bakers need to put the precise measurements in or it's a bust. Thanks for helping me be a better baker lol!!❤
thats a lovely metaphor! I may use that in the future.
Really helpful!!!
Can you show me how to make darker colors
You can mix in the smallest amount of blue to darken any skin colour. For really dark tones you may need to experiment with different blue pastels as some create darker tones than others.
Hey I love your work! However, do you have any tips to do the same on a black sheet of paper? I'm working on a piece right now and it's quite a hustle.
this was surprisingly helpful, tysm!
