Welcome to my channel. Currently the main focus is rides & mods on my 2020 KTM 690 Enduro R with a little drone, amateur radio & weather station and some footage of the aircraft carrier USS John F Kennedy (CV-67) where I was an electronics technician (ET2) stationed aboard from 02/1992 - 03/1996. Thanks for stopping by and if you're in or near the Alpharetta/Johns Creek/North Fulton GA area and are into this stuff hmu and let's do some riding!

Pastor Fabricio performing baptism in Lake Lanier
Had the honour to go on board this magnificent ship in the late 1970's When she visited portsmouth uk ( jfk had to anchor in the solent because of size could not enter portsmouth naval dockyard). Never forgot the sheer size of her . Must have taken over 100 pictures that day which I still possess. Also if my memory serves me right , all crew members very helpful in answering any questions. Great shame to her moored up. Will her heart ever beat again? Certain ships this one ,should be preserved.
I was in VS-22. Made 2 cruises on the JFK. 1982 and 1984. Was in one of the ships bands. We had 3 bands on board. Great memories. Even got to go to Perth Australia.
I was a ECMO with VAQ130, CVW3. We did the Operation Desert Shield Desert Storm deployment 1990-1992. I still have my CV67 double centurion patches. She was a fine ship.
All my old homes are razor blades or museums somewhere….. time flys…. 🫡 Big John…
My home from 1977to1981 Always got us home. What a ship!! An honor to have served on her!! I would go back in a heartbeat.Deck Dept.BM2
The "John Kool" ... 73-76 Weapons Dept. Worst memory ... on the 75 deployment, collided with the USS Belknap in the Med! Ugly scene ... many casualties, because of miscommunications. She was my first ship and was slated to be my last, until unforeseen circumstances derailed that career plan.
Beautiful! 😍
oooo yes please I need more! 👍👍👍😀
Looks like a good time
what a bloody amazing playground that is! 👍👍👍😀😀😀
A new construction that I stumbled upon here in Alpharetta, GA. 😁
Weapons elevator chief during that deployment.
Why do you change to the Oberon ? Is there a Difference to the original disregarding the better optic ?
@@stefanschmidt3069 The stock ones typically fail early. Mine had the rubber already torn.
BT - 3MMR - 1997-2001
I was in AIMD IM3
Wow, haven’t seen this in a LONG while. Thank you for uploading
HER COLLISONS, REALLY HURT HER, spent most of my time 'REPAIRING" her was EM-3 E-4 @ her 12th year left E-5, she was tired like I was, left her in the Med. flew home.
My dad served on the Kennedy and the Roosevelt in the 70s. He was very proud of the ships he served on
Served on Big John 89-94. Sad to see it go to mothballs
I first set foot on her in 1972 for a 10 work-up. Then, I was deployed on her with VA-34 in 1980/81, and 2 cruises with VA-75 1986-89. Sad site.
Lived on big John 1980-1983
Amen to that brother 🙏
The last time I saw the her, the JFK was docked next to the brand new Nimitz which was still taking on crew. The Kennedy has aged about as well as I have.
Spent many 12 hour days on that flight deck. Hard work as a plane captain but loved every minute of it.
WHERE'S THE SOUND❓️
Yeah, didn't have any audio...
yeah, it needs a good wax job and some detailing, but other than that seems like it's good to go
USS. John F. Kennedy CV-67 should be made into a museum ship!
Yeah, that was the hope with the original initiative to have her towed up to RI however, for whatever reason those plans fell through...
Served on this Great ship from 89-92. Great experience indeed.
I was on the flag ship JFK too. Unlike most of you friggin' so-called veterans and wannabes, I was on board when we hit the Belknap at the superstructure when the ship clipped the flight JFK deck. I could have managed to get one of my relatives over to Edinburgh Scotland area too. I just wasn't thinking at the time, as usual. What you dimwits have never seemed to understand is that a flag ship is LITERALLY a floating country. And the captain of the ship is king and ruler over that country. I had some opportunities on the Kennedy that I simply didn't have the sense to take advantage of.
ASW module 79-82 Did a long Med and a regular IO Cruise. Spain, France, Italy, Egypt, Israel, Greece, Kenya and Australia.
Many memories aboard the Kennedy. Good and bad. I served from 80 83. It took me about a month to get used to being out to sea I 😅spent time on the fantail looking at no end to the ocean I did two tours Indian ocean med. Went through the suez canal all the way to Perth Australia that was the best port of call I've ever been to miss you all the people I met in my time of service big John for ever
Spent some time on the fantail myself. Also, spent a good bit on the LSO platform watching landings as well as up on the antenna mast.
Capt Beard sucked
Last of the conventionals
Ranger had the best theme song
I was in P2 Division working down in the hole
Great video, BUT, not sure if it is legal to fly a drone within 5 miles of an airport. The Philadelphia Navy Yard is 2 miles from the airport or at least from where the JFK is. I walk around the Navy Yard often and always stop and look at the JFK in her current stage and the commerical planes landing at the Philadelphia International Airport are flying very low as they pass over the JFK to land 2 miles away... I also think that is illegal to fly a drone at Philadelphia Navy Yard. Just saying be carefull..
Nice footage. I used to work in the Navy Yard and have seen it from the bow end many times. It's nice to see it from all angles.
I was in VA-34 and made three cruises on JFK from 1970-1974. It was the newest carrier back then and they kept her at sea a lot.
Sad but way must be made for new bigger better carriers i was privileged to tour JFK years ago a fine tall ship.
I love this song
The decommissioning of the CV-67 was a sad day here in her home city of max florida. It’s was a great ship they keeping it in mothballs hopefully they re-commission it once again.
JFK in rough shape
Ride on
Useful but annoying trying to hear what you're saying over the background music.
Yes, should have mixed the sound better
How much would it cost to bring her back to service if desperately needed?
Man, I can't imagine how many millions...
@@w4gapI would go with multibillions. Its in bad condition and outdated that its needs to be updated to modern standards.
@@JJ-rf7dg I suspect you're right about that ;-)
It’s a shame she was never saved. Would’ve cool to have super carrier (especially the last conventionally powered one) to be a museum
That was the original plan but sadly it fell thru.
nice video man I am KTM all the way
Sad to she such an historic ship like this just sitting and waiting to be scrapped. I was Army and not Navy, but i think we can all feel somewhat of a bond when we watch top gun. Let's be honest who didnt want to be a Naval Avaiator. I would love to get a tour before she is towed away. You guys can be my wingman anytime.
Yeah, amen to that.
I was on this deployment with VF-32 Swordsman ( AO)
Navy needs an enhance recycling program
I know how you feel I was a crew member of CVA 66 the USS America it broke my heart when they used our ship to test weapons on to see the damage that the weapons would cost and how long the aircraft carrier could stay up before it sinks they use my ship as a weapons test platform I know how you feel but it did its job very well and now the rest of the newer carriers are safer because of it and they rebuilt another America number 6 just as good as the origial sometimes we have to let go so we can update and keep ahead of the competition on your ship CBA 66 it took approximately 5,000 man to operate it if it was steam powered as the America was the empire are cool was about 5,000 but now the largest ship ever built picture of Ford it can be manned with only about 3,000 men so you see automation has replaced a lot of soldier salad but it's for the best so now we got 2,000 extra men we can put on other ships well thanks for the video I enjoy it
Well we can't keep everything named JFK. Time for it to be a Reef
She needs to go to a museum. She is the last non nuclear super carrier left. All others are scrap or sunk.
