This is kinda tricky. I'm going to do my best to explain. I hold L2 , and tap the L3 stick with my left thumb in the direction that I want to swing + Circle (on the right thumb). Then, once I start swinging in that direction, I let go of the left stick and move my left thumb over to the right stick to direct the focus mode camera. The whole time, I'm holding on Circle with my right thumb to sustain the Savage Axe hit. I may need to do a video in the future to show how it looks.

@@nirvDJZthanks. Ive been searching for this explanation for a week. Coz I couldnt figure out how some youtubers can do precise target/aim while holding Circle to maximize dmg (animation of axe is that it gets stuck in monster body). So now I know my left thumb needs to do both L3 and R3. Appreciate it.

For this hunt axe and shield is pretty much all you need for damage. You want to be in Charged Axe mode most of the time.

@@MrFlayz Gotcha. Well first let me explain what charging your sword does. Charging your sword gives your sword mode "Mind's Eye" which means that your attacks will not bounce off any part of the monster no matter your sharpness or the monster's armor. In addition, you get extra phial damage from each swing of the sword. This helps with applying KO damage to the monster's head if your Charge Blade is Impact Phial type. (There are also Element Phial types) You usually want to charge your sword mode if you're playing Super Amped Element Discharge (SAED) style Charge Blade since you'll want to replenish your phials ASAP to keep using SAED. But it's more difficult to use SAED style in Wilds as opposed to the previous MH games so it's not entirely necessary.

U can get into savage axe by perfectly blocking as well then follow it up with triangle

3 ways to get into savage axe: weak points, perfect guard then y or Triangle, or mount finishers.

@@lilkhmer5 Once you are in savage axe mode, do you then "hold" the atk buttons, so the axe stays a bit in the monster ? Cause when I use savage axe, the axe swings quicker through the monster then in this video shown.

@@ELITE0812 Playing on PS5 right now. 1) Savage Axe Mode: Perfect Guard->Triangle, Focus Strike on weakpoints, or mount finishers. You can replenish it by making more weakpoints and focus striking again. 2) Combos: In Axe mode, I like using Rushing Element Discharge (Circle) -> Element Discharge II (Circle). 3) Radial Menu: Luring pods and flash pods for sure need to be on there to keep them from running away. Traps and tranq bombs for quick capture too.

Actually playing on PS5 right now since I need to upgrade my PC. Going to put an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D with a 3080 in the new build.

Whats your thoughts on the new CB? Do you think they improved it? To me it looks like it didnt get as much love as other weapons

@@JoaoHenrique-qj3ke Ik you didn't ask me but I like the CB changes overall. It mostly just needs tweaks. like guard points being less powerful than perfect blocking is goofy, they should be identical imo. guard points are a staple of the weapon and you should be trying to go for them and rewarded for doing so. I'd prefer savage axe work like it did in world with its own guard point and draining phials instead of generating them, I think that's goofy. and the AED playstyle should do more damage. maybe if AED/SAED were offset attacks? that would be badass.

@@shivernaut8607 basically my thoughts. The point of the CB used to be guard pointing, charging phials, and then pulling out the axe for big damage. Now the gameplay seems to be just use the sword and shield to get savage axe and from then on just roll around and use the axe, which is a completly diferent playstyle than sword and shield. Why bother learning to guard point or use the shield if you'll barely be using it? Might aswell just play Switch Axe

@@JoaoHenrique-qj3ke I like the Savage Axe changes. Rushing Element Discharge is cool for damage and positioning. And AED2 is a dope follow up. Not a big fan of the SAED changes. Sure we can still do it after a guard point but what about after a knockdown? Time is of the essence during knockdown so I want to get my SAED off as soon as possible. I don't like damage options being taken away.

Yeah, after looking into it some more, seems like the regular element discharges don't deplete phials in Savage Axe Mode. Only the amped element discharges. (Triangle+Circle and it's follow up.)

I'm playing on PS5 and locked at 30fps due to my TV model but it feels fine to me. Doesn't seem too clunky.

Increases your damage with certain moves, opens your moveset to use SAED (Super Amped Element Discharge) & Condensed Element Slash, and increases your guard level so that you can block monster attacks with less pushback.

Yep, it sure is. It's more similar to Rise's Savage Axe than World's.

2 ways. Either do AED->Triangle + Circle, or Triangle+Circle right after a guard point.

Great questions! 1. My personal favorite build is the Realm Shift build that I nicknamed "God of Realms". I have a video using that one where I fight all the Berserkers. 2. For tough bosses, I would say that same Realm Shift build works wonders because those Realm Shifts interrupt the combo sequences of the Bosses and you can reduce cooldown on those Realm shifts a ton and keep damaging them. Gna and King Hrolf both get wrecked by those Realm Shifts. 3. For a normal playthrough on regular NG, I would go for a Runic Cooldown build like my "Mystic Spartan" videos. But on NG+ I prefer the build from the "Shadow Realm Sniper" video that I made because sniping enemies with the Axe and Spear is so much fun. 4. For a regular NG speedrun, you'd probably want to maximize your strength so that your normal attacks and Scorched Earth do a ton of damage. But depending on how many times you NG+, you can keep boosting your stats so that any build is super strong.

Charging the sword can be useful if you're going to spend a lot of time in Sword Mode or need Mind's Eye to keep from bouncing. But for this hunt I knew I wanted to be in Axe mode most of the time so I didn't charge it.

When you r doing the SAED just press L2 or LT just before the whole swing

I'm pretty sure it's the frostfang barioth one.

The skin is Frostfang Barioth CB, but the actual weapon is the Kjarr Strongarm Ice. The Frostfang CB is unfortunately impact phials.
