Nice got to love the disco!
Keep driving like that and you'll come unstuck sooner or later...
Why not go to a pay and play area. The first clip is on a Scheduled Monument on Salisbury Plain (Wildlife & Countryside Act up to £20K fine and and it is way "off piste" (Up to £1K fine as a section 34 offence.
Looks like straightforward Section 34 offence driving other than on a road ... Level 3 fine (up to £1K) plus some criminal damage and a number of byelaw offences. The chalk is harder to use when some idiot has driven over it ...
Nigel Linge Looks like Range Rover abuse to me.
I want to try that !
Land Rover Discoveries are 2 a penny
that look so much fun
Shows the LSE more easily scrapes the belly due to the extra length
Dear o dear....I live on salisbury plain and am out on me Quad at weekends....Land mark are quick to clamp down on any one being silly on the plain ..so they should too so as long as your road legal then your ok to drive the stone tracks out there..Army trucks do just as much mud making as any one els
They all had fitted breather extender kits which were all ended at the tops of the snorkels. Where the wading plugs usually go we screwed in adaptors to then run the nylon pipe. Wading will drastically shorten the life of a lot of components in the cars and increase wear and tear. But then that's what off roading is all about, finding the limits of the vehicles and in most cases exceeding them. Then fix them up and try it again
What about plugs in the timing case and bell housing? Not such a thing as a wading kit for that, i think something will break soon, silt and mud dont work well with a clutch!
rear wheel re locators will do the job nicely, i got mine £30
@techdavey1000 I did reply to you a while back but it seems to have got deleted. These discoverys had full breathers kits run up to the snorkel so there is no need for wading plugs to be used. they were modified to be driven off road. None of these cars were just washed and sold on ebay they were all scraped. Thanks for watching
@s1914 they had breather extenders on the axels, crank case and gear box. Better than wading plugs as you do have to take them in and out
@JBruschetta Better yet, dislocation cones and extended brake lines. Taller springs and wheels are fun too.
@casperman32 Some springs are supposed to dislocate for extended articulation :)
I just got done doing some wading in a petrol Discovery...I need a snorkle something fierce!
When lights on, the bulbs get warm. When driving true water, there is always possibilty that whater enters the liighthead... Youre bulbs will explode !
@chrmah i know nothing about this sort of stuff, so i'm eager to learn! Why do you have to put your lights out?
Always put your lights OUT when in water ! ! ! basic 4x4 knowledge
looks like you could use some limiting straps lol
@ddwarwick I think they are miss informed and its all an excuse to charge us 80% tax on fuel
Plants and trees love c02 FACT!!!
@ffinvest yes some water got in but not too much. it mainly came in through the heater, that noise you can hear is the water hitting the heater motor.
Could you please tell me if water got into the car? Do not lie please! :)
soudns like a truck :) nice sound
Well if you don't like it then don't watch it and then take the time to leave a comment... But thanks for your valuable input! nob head
that holes barbie saw a dead 300 in there gd old 200tdi disco loved it that day fair play to ya mite see you out 1day
co za artysta?.... , kto o zdrowych zmyslach wjezdza do wody na swiatlach
good stuff
wow!nice!so smart car!thanx for sharing!!God bless!
Good vid ;) but never a good idea to enter water with your lights on
Not compleatly, but they are well sealed. The recommended wading depth is about 50cm. any more than that and you risk hydrolocking the engine which would be an expensive mistake
Range V8 ... rules:))
What sort of state? it had been raining which isn't a rare thing so they are like that most of the year! We didn't drive excessively fast. we stick the the trail! the amount of people that I see there driving to fast and off the track and then you say its people like me causing us to lose the right to green lane! I do go to pay and plays! get off your soap box! are you going around commenting on everyones videos telling them how they are runining it for everyone?
yeah it would probably missfire if the distributer was wet. does it have a snorkel and extended breathers or wade plugs? manual or auto because it could have just needed a bit more gas and he just stalled it. I use to have a range rover classic 4.2 v8 that didn't have a snorkel on and i went under the same bridge when it was a bit shallower with no problems.
Its gas. I'm in the states, not a lot of offroad diesels...only diesel pick-ups. Sad day, but if it got on the distributer caps wouldn't it take a while to dry it off? When he went to turn it back on it didn't even hesitate.
Essential equipment, Carry a shovel, LOL
I have a safari snorkel fitted. prefer the look of them to the mantec
Diesel or Petrol? if it was petrol then water on the distributer would cause it do cut out under water. also wading plugs are a must for deep water. in this video mine did slow down a bit, i think it might have been because the water was hitting the viscous fan
Pretty sure you had a good snorkel. Maybe from Mantec?
Have you ever had your rover die on you during a water crossing. Friend of mine's died as soon as he went in. But started right back up like the water hit some safety switch. Any ideas? Nice job though!
Yeah it was on diff lock, but land rovers only have a centre locking diff, but as the front left and back right wheels were spinning it didn't really help much
Yeah we have got one now just incase
Says he's at Salisbury Plain in the title, a designated off road site....
diff lock??
its the B3055 between brockenhurst and beaulieu in hampshire
Nice vid :)
accidental articulation...LOL
Thanks, does sound a bit dodgy. I'd forgotten to switch the heater fan off and it was trying to suck in the water.
