Yep, graveyard for sure, I fish commercial salmon 25 years, then the collapse
Why do you call it Big Sur? Big Sur is 30 miles away, and is nothing but a two-bit tourist trap with a post office.
In 1948 and 1949 there were a couple of tents next to the 2 middens on the flats above the beach. They were from the University of California. They were analyzing the contents of the middens. They dated the middens at more than 10,000 years old, some of the earliest known campsites in North America. Jade was evidently used as a cooking stone for millennia, because it had a high specific heat. How the indians knew that is an open question.
> How the indians knew that is an open question. Not that open; it's called trial and error.
WOOHOO 🎉✋

I like the dude going right…. At Chicama. 😆 😆
Eddie would go.
Hey brother. They have this stuff called sun screen. You should check it out man. Lol. Looking good bro. We mis you up here.
6 meters = 20 foot.
Its firing. Looks prefect. Wish I was there.
Would love to get some knowledge from you CAP. Whenever your back in Big Sur would love to get in touch with you via any way your willing. I Aquired a collection of BIG SUR Jade from the Early Days. Would love to send a few pics get any idea what I actually have, I’m in no hurry was thinking maybe going to the Festival just to get a idea of what the heck BIG SUR JADE actually is and in the whole scheme what’s the top grade actually. Ty if you’re willing I would appreciate it.
Even flat out front I bet the point is going off. There is a surf guide named Frank Luisinha Vasquez Arroyo. His brother is a boatman. If you know him and see him tell him CHris Ahola Said hi.
Sitting on over 1000 pounds Big Sur Jade. collected in the 40’s. Trying to figure out how to get a value
more green, more clear, more smooth, more vaule
Are you trying to depleat the area of nephrite jade?
@@Sassyone-522 did you read what I said? this was self collected in the 70s or earlier I hate people who don’t know how to read
So many illiterate people on the Internet nowadays
Let’s go Cap!
Hey Brother. Glad you made it. (This is John Btw) Enjoy your time there. Keep the videos coming!
Glad to see you back. Show us some waves.
Love
Legend!!! Crypto cap we need more Jade content.
Known about this trail for years. Locals call it Broken Truck. You need low tide and you can walk all the way to Jade Cove. Some real jade beauties have been found on such a trip.
Hi sir, I have rough Jadeite Jade Type A from Indonesia, do you interested ?
i've ridden longer than minute waves in point breaks in mexico and dont need a wetsuit. the water in 90 degrees. i wouldnt travel all the way to peru for this and to have to wear a full suit at the same time. no thanks
Thank you!❤
We want to see the pieces Cap
These videos are amazing. I am a local to Los Osos. Love to see the history.
Love ur videos Cap
Epic. Only word to describe this video.
When was this??
Started during heavy rain stotms ("Atmospherice River") about January 2023, will likely take at least a year to clean-up and repar. It's just north of Limekiln Camp. Last estimated re-opening date I saw was December 2023, but that's not going to happen.
Did you have to register or declare the drone upon arrival to Peru? Im planning to take one to Chicama also.
I attempted to. At Lima Airport you are supposed to follow red line to customs and declare and make deposit. However the red line took us to the street bypassing customs. In the end I did not declare the drone. one hint for droning at Chicama. the playing field is super large. fly from as close to the break as possible. I don't recommend flying from the Malecon. the distance is much larger than it appears and you will be flying into the wind returning using alot of battery.
Vancouver Island BC
Hey Cap it’s Rick Lanshaw here. I’m guessing it’s Chicama but you flipped the footage 😂
Bro you are the first to get it!! It is Chicama inverted. Rad to see you yesterday and can’t wait to be in the water with you👍👍😎✌️
@@cryptocaptravelslol!! Cool seeing you as well! Talk soon I hope
Great footage! Tulare Lake is beautiful and huge already! Let the lake live!
Thanks for this. It is fascinating and shows us how brave people are and as well as see the passion for the ocean
Glad you enjoyed it!
They must have forgot a lighter or something.
Are we there yet???
Thats a lot of rowing. My back hurts just thinking about it.
As much as I love the Tucson Gem Shows…I think I may love the Monterey Bay Jade Fest even more!! 💚💚💚 It’s truly an inspiring event at a scenic destination. Highly recommend!
I have heard of the Atlantic crossing bit this is crazy.
Hey brother are you not in Hawaii?? Maybe you can catch the finish line for me?? I appreciate you being on my channel so long. Peace and Love
@@cryptocaptravels I found your channel after I saw you where in Chicama about the same time I was. I went to Peru May 15th thru April3rd last year. I had a blast. I am From Palos Verdes Los Angeles. I currently live in Cocoa Beach Florida.
@@chriscoralAloha pease and love to you brother of another mother. Gotta feeling we cross in the water some day. 👍👍✌️😎
That is all serpentine. Very easy to carve with dremel tools.
Actually most is nephrite and some not from Big Sur is jadite. No serpentine
@@cryptocaptravels I have collected jade for 50+ years. I have jadeite and nephrite from Burma, BC nephrite, and a small piece of black nephrite from Jade Cove. None of the carved stones shown in this video are jade. They are all serpentine, which is very common at Jade Cove. If it can be worked with a dremel tool, it is not jade. It took almost an hour to saw through the pencil-sized piece of black jade I found at Jade Cove, with a diamond band saw. The motor was smoking when I finished. And it took several hours to polish a small (.75" long) cabachon with diamond wheels. The polished serpentine pieces all look very nice, but they will weather and fade away in a few years.
You don't know very much about jade, do you? lol
I know enough to tell real nephritis jade from common serpentine.
@@williamogilvie6909 ATTENTION EVERYONE! The next Monterey Bay Jade Festival is postponed! It seems that we all have been living a lie! It turns out for the past 20 plus years, NONE of us have been selling jade. According to William Ogerlevie, we have all be selling serpentine the whole time! That's right, none on of us professional jade carvers and sellers who have been doing this our entire careers have been able to properly identify jade from serpentine! Everyone needs to shut down their operations immediately until Mr Ogerlevie comes and inspects your workshop and inventory. Mr Ogerlevie is now the supreme overlord of our fake jade industry. The gig is up, fellas. He is onto us!
It was such a great crowd, excellent Jade everwhere. Bought that pipe at 0:26 lol
What a piece of shit. Wasted money!

Ain't the prettiest, but it's the meanest 🔥🔥🔥
Hey Cap it’s Michelle, I am excited about your adventure and sights and I have friends that have a lot of research on him as well as others 👍
Thanks for sharing.
Wider angle gives a great feel for the action. I wish more guys would use that to mix in with tighter views.
West swell. High tide.
