In Japan, you shouldn’t learn about Nagasaki and Hiroshima until you learn about what 9 million plus Chinese that died in Japan’s imperialistic war on the mainland of Asia. The Japanese, like the Germans, were not victims in The Second World War.

The leadership in Japan, as opposed to the IJA leadership stationed in China, mostly attribute, at least in part, the surrender in August to the bombs. The support for the idea that Soviet intervention was what broke the camel’s back when you consider that the Soviet Navy was strategically insignificant. The Soviets didn’t pose a threat to Honshu, and it was on Honshu where power ultimately lay. Had the bombs not been dropped, the war may have continued for months, resulting in the starvation of millions in Japan, China, South, and East Asia, in addition to the military and civilian deaths that would be incurred in continued combat operations.

Our government just sucks. They knew there’d be a fallout from this and they did it anyway.

Looks like it's in a pretty good shape (except for the exploded bits). Very little corrosion so far. All the expensive titanium they used to build it was worth every penny. Lifting it might indeed be a challenge but I wonder if selling all the titanium as scrap at ~$6250/ton might cover the costs. The price is fluctuating a lot so it might even double if they waited for the right moment. The nuclear reactor and the torpedoes would definitely add risks and ramp up the recovery costs...

There is no doubt there were a lot of people in New Mexico who were impacted by this and probably got cancer from their exposure, but if you look at the maps of the fallout, it didn't hit Tularosa at all so it's suspicious that Tina is pushing for the people of Tularosa to be compensated unless they went to the blast site. There was zero fallout in Tularosa according to all the maps. Las Vegas, NM which was a lot further away had quite a bit of fallout even into SE Colorado. Places in NM that were hit the hardest by the fallout were Carrizozo, Corona, Vaughn and Santa Rosa. Even Albuquerque got more than Tularosa (which got zero). Yes, if people drove to the location out of curiosity they were probably exposed as were the scientists who were stupid enough to look at the blast site directly days after the explosion, but reports of ash falling on the town of Tularosa is not substantiated at all. It was close to the location but the winds did NOT go in that direction. They were traveling in a NE direction and Tularosa is SE of Trinity site. Snip: "Chuck Wiggins, director of the New Mexico Tumor Registry, has said data shows cancer rates in Tularosa are around the same as other parts of the state." The Nevada test site detonated over 1,000 nuclear bombs and the fallout from those hit many towns in NV and Utah way, way harder than NM and even in those areas, cancer rates were only slightly higher than the average in the US. This is a very important subject and people need to be compensated, but please be honest about which places were impacted and don't throw a town into the discussion just because they grew up there and someone they knew got cancer. Cancer kills 1 in 4 people globally. She is doing very good work for a lot of people but she should stick to the facts.

Being old, I do not plan on activism. But we can all make a great difference with our lifestyle and food. For example, I eat mostly local and organic and nothing pre made. Nothing. I do not cook either. Actually, food comes prepared. Turning food into entertainment is harmful to you and to the planet. Yes, I also have a garden with fruits and vegetables. I do not use hygiene products or anything that comes in a plastic container. I reuse my plastic bags for shopping. I hardly have any garbage at all as I compost and don't have much else. My kitchen is hardly used and is therefore always clean, saving on heat, hot water, and much more. I turn my hot water on only when I need it for shower or laundry, and I hang my laundry to dry; outside in the summer and inside in the winter. Clearing our air and climate goes hand in hand with cleaning our own health, banning human made foods and unnecessary products. Bread and pasta do not grow on trees nor run in the forest. Same for chips and other products that create pollution in the making. The making, cooking, cleaning... all take lots of energy and the making of all the many kitchen tools, storing, packaging and delivering them... tracks…can you imagine how much we can reduce pollution by going back to eating only real, local food in its original form. And no, you don't have to be vegan. Millions eat raw animal foods too, from organic, local grass fed (which means enhancing air quality) animals. And you can cook sporadically, just not constantly. But if you are vegan, do not eat processed vegan foods but real organic plant foods. And the way to avoid body care products; don't put on your skin what you cannot eat. It goes through into your body, polluting it too and the production, packaging and delivery is very polluting and creates endless garbage too. Many foods are great cleaners of hair and skin. Humans existed before the body care industry. And last: When you do the above, you can avoid polluting and harmful medications. So, even if you are not an activist or a politician, you can do your part in your personal life.

And yet, Japan bow to America.. look around the world. Iraq, Libya, Egypt, Afghanistan.. Yemen, Somalia, Africa.. whenever USA is involved.. countries will be destroyed.

Japan has never repented of its crimes to the Koreans and the Chinese. This girl is an ignoramus.

Had Truman targeted military targets with the nuclear bombs, their use may have been justified. However the intentional targeting of civilian cities is beyond evil. The U.S. government today considers the intentional bombing of civilian populations as both a war crime and an act of terrorism.

I saw youre video on how to dismantle a nuclear bomb, it takes more than one person to launch a nuclear weapon from the US, a second person, almost like a ships XO to concur with the president, or it cant be launched, depending on what staff are alive or present at the time, there's a list of succession, and only a few people have Gold Codes( Gold Codes are generated daily and provided by the National Security Agency (NSA) to the White House, The Pentagon, United States Strategic Command and TACAMO. For an extra level of security, the list of codes on the card includes codes that have no meaning, and therefore the president must memorize where on the list the correct code is located. The concept behind the codes is that they permit the president to positively identify themself as the commander-in-chief and thereby authenticate a launch order to the National Military Command Center (NMCC)then you have to take into account the 6 man chain of command and the men,2 must turn the keys at the same time...anyone of these people can stop it from happening, even at the launch site, but that would just be turned over to the secondary missiles, which all of them would go from DEFCON 2 to DEFCON 1. and SAC would oversee this. the president and another high-ranking official, such as the vice president or secretary of defense, must jointly authenticate the order to use nuclear weapons.(Nuclear-defense policy)if there's nobody else willing to give their Gold Code , the launch can not be authenticated,and the Football wont work without a second Gold code, there is a hierarchy of succession in the event.what's scary is the 3rd of the list is the Speaker of the House of Representatives, which is why nobody will impeach Biden or Harris,Some say on the inside there is a plan to impeach Biden and turn over control to Harris. becuase that would make Speaker of the House the VP.whats even more disturbing is, anyone can be voted in as the Speaker of the House, you don't have to hold office or work from the Government. which there's been a buzz after the Midterms when the Dems will suffer major losses, and the reason why Trump is saying he might not run again, is because there's been talk of voting him Speaker of the House...
