Fatima Apparitions with Fr. Joe Roesch
Meet Father Joe Roesch, MIC
Father Joe Roesch, MIC, Superior General of the Marians of the Immaculate Conception, joins the Mercy Unbound podcast from Rome. You may recognize him from EWTN, where he moderated the Divine Mercy Sunday celebration from the National Shrine of Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, MA. He is also author of the book, Fatima, A Pilgrimage With Mary, available on ShopMercy.org and Amazon.
In this episode, we explore the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima, which took place over a century ago, and reflect on their enduring relevance for our world today.
Apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima
In 1916, an angel appeared to three young shepherd children - Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta - in Fatima. The angel taught them the importance of prayer, Eucharistic Adoration, and sacrifice. At the time, the children were nine, eight, and six years of age, respectively.
The first apparition of Our Lady occurred on May 13, 1917, and continued monthly for six months. At that time, the world was in turmoil. The Bolshevik Revolution was unfolding, World War I was still raging, and the influenza pandemic had claimed millions of lives. Our Lady’s message to the children emphasized the need for prayer and sacrifice, especially for the conversion of sinners and peace in the world.
Three Secrets
During these apparitions, Our Lady entrusted the children with three secrets. The first was a vision of hell, which deeply impacted them. The second foretold the end of World War I, the outbreak of another war, and a call for the consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart. The third secret included a vision of a bishop dressed in white who was shot and killed, with angels gathering the blood of martyrs. Notably, on May 13, 1981, exactly 64 years after the first apparition, Pope St. John Paul II was shot and nearly killed in St. Peter’s Square. He credited Our Lady of Fatima with saving his life, reaffirming the power and significance of the Rosary.
Apparitions for Our Society
Today, Saints Jacinta and Francisco have been canonized, and the cause for Sister Lucia’s beatification is ongoing. While Jacinta and Francisco died as children, Sister Lucia lived to be 97 and continued to share the message of Fatima throughout her life.
The apparitions at Fatima remain profoundly relevant in our times. Many have fallen away from faith or grown indifferent to God. The world faces conflicts in Ukraine, the Middle East, and the escalating influence of nations such as Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea. Now, more than ever, Our Lady’s call for conversion, prayer, and the Rosary is a beacon of hope for a world in need of God’s mercy.

I believe in the apparitions of Garabandal from 1961-1965.I visited Garabandal from 15 th-16th October 2024.I climbed to the 9 pine trees through the calleja twice.i visited the church and kissed the cross which our lady kissed.I met Michael Hottinger, and spoke with him a an expert in Garabandal.i hope to visit there again.i visited many other marian shrine's, Vallenkani, Medjugorje, Akita, Fatima, Garabandal and Lourdes. The warning could come as early as in 2025.The synod on synodality has just closed and according to Conchita, after a synod, the warnings and Miracle will take place.Pray the Rosary Daily.Amen
Very good video. May I offer this. I am seeing a man who suffers from tourettes (spelling*) in this video. . I have a friend who became afflicted by a speech impediment after a demonic encounter. I suffer from OCD because of generational curse myself. Just an observation, somrthing that I personally feel is not fair, affliction from encounter.
May God have mercy on us all.
The popes do not obey the mother of God so they are responsible for the world of today, and it continues...... the flock are scattering far and wide, the Church is divided and just when we need it strong and clear in its leadership
It was 1918 and the Spanish flu pandemic engulfed the global community, killing between 25 and 50 million people. My grandmother noticed that my mother had a fever. She immediately called the town doctor, in Italy, to have her examined. The doctor told my grandmother that she would not survive the night. Mom had the Spanish flu. Grandma decided to pray to Our Lady of Pompei of the Rosary for her intercession, to grant my mother a cure. The next day the doctor revisited my mother and said that, it was a miracle, the flu she had was gone. To honor Our Lady of Pompei for the miracle received, my mother got married in the Basilica of Our Lady of Pompei, Italy. Our Lady of Pompei granted my mother a second miracle. I am my mother's firstborn and that second miracle, was to have me born on her feast day. The feast of Our Lady of Pompei is the day of Our Lady of the Rosary, October 7, my birthday. Mom lived to be 99 years old. With God all things are possible. Blessed Mother of Jesus, I am Totus Tuus.🙏❤️
Thanks Bryan for this information. Excellent 🙏🏻🇵🇪🇦🇷🇵🇷🇺🇸
In the message (#449, dated 5/13/1991) to Father Gobbi, Marian Movement of Priests, Blessed Mother confirmed that the bishop dressed in white in the vision seen by Fatima children is Pope John Paul II. He was to die when the assassination was attempted on 5/13/1981, but Blessed Mother intervened to give additional time of Mercy to the world for repentance and conversion.
Really educational.
Dear mother Mary please help me to know Jesus as my father l need you mama ❤️💕💕💕💕🙏🙏🙏🙏
Not watching the vid just putting my two pence worth here..yes the shroud may be from that time but whose to say who the man is?..it doesn’t prove that god the father, the son and the holy goat exist? 😂
Is it possible the deadly pestilence at night in Psalm 91 could be an odor permeating your home? Could it be part of spiritual attack? I've experienced this for years, along with thuds around the exterior of my house. I would say I'm going crazy but there's actual damage that looks like hail but it's under the porch as well, but security cameras pick up nothing. A chemical odor wakes me up and I pray and it goes away. I'm not Catholic but Protestant. I just want to understand who or what my enemy is. I've prayed for their salvation but I'm beginning to think it's more of an attack now and I don't know what response I should take. I don't understand any of it, but I do know God protects me.
Wonderful presentation!!!! The Flame of Love is after me……..it keeps coming into my life………praise God❤There is a Scapular of the Flame of Love Prayer. I have been wearing it for over a year now. I cannot take it off. I pray the prayer daily and various times a day.
Lmfao exorcisms have killed 100ds of people. Priests kept patients without food and kneeling for long periods at a time. A lot of them died from malnutrition with broken extremities. Meaning those priests killed those innocent children. They need psychological help not a priest.
Thank you Father for your blessing God bless you 🙏
49:02 Thank you for clarifying that we must defy reason and logic to believe in the messages of Garabandal. "Never say never and never say always" is itself logically impossible, but that's the advice Flynn gives for accepting the famous and blatantly false prophecy of Conchita about the blind man. He advises us to accept all the Garabandal prophecies as written but to discount the evidence of facts to the contrary as our own false interpretation.
I really don't need anyone to tell me the Shroud is legit. Commonsense dictates.
Wow Wow Wow… I’m not finished watching but what a beautifully informative on Our Lady Flame of Love!!! PS I pray it since around 2019 blessed the soul who introduced me to Our Lady Flame of Love in Northridge California.
My favorite priest ❤
Pray without Ceasing brothers and sisters. The diabolic is real. Will scare you to prayer and the Eucharist if you are just a nominal Catholic. God wants us to be a people of prayer, and He commands that we love Him. If truth be told most are focussed on things of this life rather than things of God.
Kibeho Divine Mercy statue on point.
Does anyone have a link to the rosaries?
I suggest you Google Seven Sorrows Rosary and many options will come up
Thanks for this wonderful episode. I am reading Fr.Donald's book 'The Champions of the Rosary'. It is really inspiring. The best book to read in October to motivate us to pray the rosary more and more.
I have a couple of Christine’s books, but I’m going to get one more for my husband, hopefully he reads it.

Brilliant discussion, thanks from Scotland
this jew is in it for the money and a free trip to italy
Schwortz never asked to be a member of the STURP team. He was asked. He objected because he was Jewish and the Shroud is a Christian relic. He eventually consented.
God BLESS❤
Thank you!
Only a few bunch of satanic cult believing bastard were desperately trying to disprove the shroud of Turin out of their hatred without cause against the Church of saints that Jesus established under the stewardship of Peter and this idiot is doing just that
The way to knowing God exists is not thru logic, and there will never be any physical evidence for the existence of God, there only ever by experiential evidence for God. I've felt his love BIG TIME and I now know that Jesus is right, God's love for each and every one of us is so great it's immeasurable. (It also requires nothing from us in order to have it--no sacrifices of any kind, the Father loves us because we are a part of him.) But there are many olden notions of God that are anthropomorphic that give many believers a wrong impression of God. Many of those are in the Old Testament, which no longer serves the purpose of promoting God. Couple that with all ideas of "hell" and you have a reason for people to disbelieve. There's nothing divine about the concept of hell, as a loving Father would never consent to such torture. All Christian ideas of an angry God stem from his original conception, Yahweh was the name of a volcano. But institutionalized religions do not have any mechanisms for modifying their belief structures. The All-or-Nothing attitude of many with regard to the Bible, preclude that. While many already pick and choose which parts of the Bible are important to them, atheists will forever bring up things like the Bible's support of slavery as a reason for non-belief. Even the idea of Jesus dying for our sins, as appealing as that is to many, serves as a turn-off to all those who feel no need of being saved by someone who would kill his own Son. IMHO, Jesus only died because he wanted to demonstrate a resurrection, which can only happen after dying. His own teaching on forgiveness is in the Lord's Prayer: forgive us as we forgive others. Paul got that one wrong. While Jesus is not flawed, Christianity certainly is.
I agree, the odds of a cell forming by accident hover just above absolute zero. But that's not the real issue. There's a text called the Astrobiology Primer that outlines the chemical interactions supposedly leading to the formation of at least parts of the cell with the assumption that it all just fell into place on it's own. What the author failed to realize, and speaks to the point here, is that all that would produce would be a lifeless bit of organic goo. Nowhere does the primer, nor any atheist channels I've watched so far, speculate as to how that lifeless bit of organic goo became alive. (One one channel, I asked "how it became animated" and that was apparently too cryptic for at least one person, who couldn't make the logical jump between "animated" and "alive.") As biologist Michael Levin points out, "Life has cognition all the way down to the individual cell." This means that 'mind' is required for a cell to be alive, and mind is not a property of matter. Too many think that mind is a function of the brain and neural activity, but IMHO this is backwards thinking. I rather suspect that it took mind in order for the brain to evolve. So, while complexity is certainly a consideration, the key reason abiogenesis is an impossibility is because 'mind' is necessary for life, and that would not happen by accident.
Is this Bishop an Orthodox Catholic, if so they do not believe that the Pope is infallible.
"O.R.C. (born Anton Schneider on 7 April 1961) is a Catholic prelate, serving as the Auxiliary Bishop of Astana in Kazakhstan. He is a member of the Canons Regular of the Holy Cross of Coimbra. He is known for championing the pre-Vatican II liturgical traditions and practices of the Church and for protesting certain current policies, including some associated with Pope Francis." (Wikipedia). Sounds like he has some problems with the Holy Father's opinions (not Dogma), and so he seems to be a Roman Catholic and in full communion with Rome, at least according to a quick web search...
Remember Barry my landsman, Yeshua/the Christ was Jewish and celebrated and followed all the traditions. Such a beautiful testimony from you!!!❤
Please pray for me èveryone. I need a healer for my mold problem. Either that or I need to go to Lourdes.
Please share your blessings and graces with each other. Jesus I trust in you.
The Gospel of St John states: "So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb. Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. He bent over and looked in at the strips of linen lying there but did not go in. Then Simon Peter came along behind him and went straight into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there, as well as the cloth that had been wrapped around Jesus’ head. The cloth was still lying in its place, separate from the linen." (John 20: 3-7) Either the Shroud of Turin is genuine and theses verses are wrong in recording that strips of linen (not just ONE SHEET) were found or else it is a fake and the biblical account is accurate. Christians cannot have it both ways. If they don't believe that a gospel could be wrong in such a detail as this, then THEY HAVE TO DECLARE THE SHROUD TO BE A FAKE. Which or course it is, being a photographic negative created by projecting the image of a corpse through a camera obscura onto a burial cloth that had been brought back by a pilgrim from the Holy Land and which the hoaxer treated with a photo-sensitive chemical solution so as to produce a photographic negative. Sceptics who think this cannot do the job should read the book "Turin Shroud: how Leonardo da Vinci fooled history", written by Lynn Picknett and Clive Prince. They will find photographs of actual images of human heads on a linen sheet created with a camera obscura.
Nonsense, and you know it .. . . . . LOL ! da Vinci was born 100 years after the Shroud was exhibited in France. LOL !
What happens when this just makes it worse.
What a beautiful testimony! Your testimony brought me joy and moved my heart to know that nothing is impossible to God. I was once upon a time lost for many years and in 2021 I had an encounter with Jesus, I just KNEW it was him and I gave me life to him in that same year. Since then He changed my life completely and still going through his daily change of heart, I'm a new creature in Christ. I must mention that Mother Mary was also interceding for my change. Thank you for sharing this beautiful testimony. God bless you!
You may not be Christian, but you’re pretty close. Fear not to take the step. By embracing Truth you already accepted Yeshua ha Meshiah.
The choice of sample was not disingenuous. Out of 14 ft of shroud they PICKED the repair material . The British Museum BLOCKING re analyses Proves culpability.
Rest in peace Barrie. I hope you’re chilling with Jesus in heaven talking about Shroud science.
Only Jointly, the Star of David and the Cross together will bring the anticipated Peace in the World. It will also leave the ayatollahs fumbling in dast.
What a beautiful thing to say! Still Judaism must promptly bring violent Zionism back to God's Commandments, or Zionism and Judaism will be permanently rejected.
No, you will find Lucifer is not the "King of hell" he is 'the coward of hell' please be sure to remember this.
Is there any way to get a hold of Mr. Blai? I have a few questions for him
To still assert that this is a clever forgery is, to me, much more an exercise in faith than accepting the overwhelming evidence indicating that it is the burial cloth of Jesus of Nazareth; and further, that it in turn contains multiple attributes supporting the gospel accounts of His death, and even His resurrection (Notice I did not use the word, "proof," but "evidence").
Sry, what's the name of B. Schwartz' website ?
I like this guy it saddens me to hear that he is no longer with us. He’s the kind of person you like to know personally, rest in peace Barrie ……..
I have spent many wonderful hours talking on the phone to Barrie. He lived not far from Colorado Springs where my daughter lives. I mentioned that I was going to come and visit her and he suggested that we meet up for dinner one night while I was there. We both enjoy Mexican food, so we ate at one in Woodland Park that he had eaten at before and enjoyed. While over the years I had spent hours talking to Barrie about the Shroud, this time it was just free rein to chat about anything we wanted. His time in the Navy, his first photography studios in California. Cameras, film, previous marriages, kids, cars, even Mount Everest. When we talked over the phone it was always Shroud related. When we met for dinner, nothing was off limits. He gave me some pictures that he had taken of the Shroud back in 1978 (they are framed and, on my wall, now) and a book on the Shroud. Two hours of chat later spilled into the parking lot where we chatted for yet another hour. I did not want it to end. But end it had to so when we parted company, I shook his hand and felt such a thrill knowing that I was touching the hand of a man that touched the face of our Lord. The Mexican food that night was only OK, and the prices were high, but wow was it ever worth it to spend that much time with Barrie. I am so sad that I will never be able to do that again. Rest in peace, Barrie. You will be missed. Greatly. 😞
