Thank you so much 🙏🏼 Hare Krsna
Speaking for the 99.99999999% of the world who aren't Hawaiian, this would be an excellent doco on taro production and processing without the language lesson and the mythology. Being a good farmer is enough. You don't need to cloak yourself in mysticism to make yourself feel important. Following that road leads to sacrificing virgins or children to ensure a good harvest.
Mahalo nui for sharing this priceless knowledge. I really appreciate you
I pray this guy never looks up his company name aikane in the hawaiian dictionary. He won't be too happy with what he learns.
Which fertilizer do u use to get large green leaves
Why remove pups? Why not provide nutrient adequacy for the family and not remove the pups? Outside of sharing with others :)
4:30 ...concern for banana borer....I have large (ground squirrel) borers in Southern California which necesitates hardware cloth-protected beds.
7:34 Yes, bananas are heavy feeders. I feed every 30-45 days in growing season ( May-Sept, 9b zone). It takes 45 days from flower to harvest, nam wah variety, so I need to plan feeding with enough time for the rack to finish ripening..

On the section where they talk about 'awa and liver issues: Research had shown that liver damage is specifically associated with modern cultivars (particularly those cultivated in Papua, I believe) bred to maximize kavalactones, which also increased toxic constituents that damage the liver. This issue was not found with traditionally grown varieties (also called Nobel varieties), though individuals with liver dysfunction should still consult with their health care professionals before consuming.
Thank you! We have some sort of Kalo in our yard and we are trying to figure out which Kalo it is.
Kupuna kalo website is your best bet. I grew what I was told was from the 'ele'ele group for two years when I first started. After using kupuna kalo, found out it was actually Lauloa 'ele'ele 'ōma'o
Great video, what was up with the host pounding taro all mad at end?😂
Can Katuk be grown from seeds or by cuttings only?
Christopher's hat's so cool
Like your suggestions and I think I did plan at least in my head, but not so much on paper. I find it is better to gradually grow the garden and to go with the flow. Yes think about what you want from the garden, whether you are a clean (OCD) type or a more natural (messy) Gardener (I am the latter) and then just start with one corner of the garden and expand. I put all my Citrus trees in at first, mainly because I bought them over the years and carried them from place to place in pots. One Cumquat is 20 years old. :) So yes maybe there was a plan for a long time.
