Trolling in uk not used to catch fish it's a method used to find fish,on large new waters,you have not fished before it can be daunting,so put out two rods if they both hit fish almost same time it's worth dropping anchor,and fishing that spot possibly a shoal. It's the thrill of feeling the take that keeps me going back,don't experience takes on a trolled lure.

LOL in Rockport we stay away from working birds. It's always Gaftop, never good fish.

Something else, in Sandy areas, try throwing a crankbait. Let the nose dig into the sand as you slowly retrieve. Flounder can't resist for some reason.

You should try the Nichols flutter spoons. The smallest is the Mojo, which I find works best for fish is highly pressured areas or when it's really hot. The 4" and 5" have been awesome on the flats and near grass edges. There's also an 8" which has worked great at the jetties. All around, the 4" is probably the most versatile. I'm in South Padre and have caught numerous snook and reds on them.
