It seems like a small point but it makes me sad that Whitney finally came into how she wanted to look and sound without interference so close to her vocal decline. She was so passionate about the My Love is Your Love album and gave some of her most generous, happy and insightful interviews to promote it. She was really involved with her collaborators and respected them all. And the whole new look - G&B all the way. She was no longer Clive's 'princess' - but a grown, beautiful, soulful, sexy woman who was asserting her new sound and look. Creative windows were opening for her - but the old stresses and demons were waiting in the wings. ❤

If you think she couldn’t hit that high note - 7:15. She just wasn’t gonna give it. Note the wink at the beginning of the performance. Haha.

When I’m cleaning my house , I go onto TH-cam and find all her lives and blast it so loud onto my Bluetooth stereo as if I was front row at her concert. Her live voice outshines any of the records. I miss her so much..🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

One of the best versions of her singing this live! Although I love her singing this at The Grammy's (in that red ballroom prom dress she had on. Lol), this one was another one well done. She really didn't like this song much. Clive Davis made her sing it for her second cd. I get that she wasn't a big fan of the song for whatever reason, but boy was she a champion for singing it so tenderly.

She's 38 and she's starting to struggle here to hit her signature notes and vocal runs. That's very young for a throat to be damaged. When she re-emerged 7 years later to sing live again at age 45, her tone was totally different. She didn't sound like Whitney anymore. One of the saddest stories in show business history. I saw her sing live when she was 16 for the first time, backing up Cissy. It was magical, incredible. I'll never forget thinking "this girl can be one of the greats". A lot of people thought the same.

Wow...when you look at it like this...Whitney was being overworked. All these songs had to be recorded, promoted and put on tour.
