Hey my bearded dragon is gulping and stretching his mouth pretty wide. I see a big shed coming off his back and from under his neck. Should I be concerned? I have never seen thus behavior from him. Summary of below info: visit www.arcadiareptile.com for quality, science based lighting info. Please, do NOT follow this video. Good UVB light: Arcadia (see their website to know which is best for your setup) and ReptiSun T5ho 10.0 or T8 10.0 of mounted inside sighing 6-8” of beardie. TUBE NOT COIL, NEVER COIL! Both need reflectors. If mounting on top of screen, ensure it is not fine mesh. If all you have is fine mesh then drill bigger holes or mount inside. Mercury vapor bulbs are tricky, if used inappropriately they can burn your beardie. Absolutely NO red lights or any for of night lights for beardie. Like humans they cool (60-65°F), dark and quiet. They have different Circadian rhythm, 12-14 hrs on and 10-12 off, babies need tighter parameters 12 on and 12 off. Timers are relatively cheap and super helpful! If it gets too cold at night, below 60°F use a ceramic heat emitter. If you want to preserve longevity in your UVB and heat lights, wear gloves when touching the bulbs, using your bare hands causes them to burn out quickly due to our natural oils (don’t know the exact science on this one).

Please no one listen to this video. Do your own research across multiple sources. Adult bearded dragons in my opinion need a minimum 100 + gallon enclosure and most of the ones shown here can only be used when they are babies to maybe 6 months. Side opening is also better than an aquarium style top opening ones because they might think you are predators reaching down for them. I wish TH-cam showed this amount of dislikes on a video for creators like these.
