Waltz of the Flowers & Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy - The Nutcracker #sugarplumfairy #nutcracker
Happy Holidays! The Nutcracker is among the most beautiful and magical holiday pieces of music. Tchaikovsky really knew how to write for each instrument, and the harp gets to sparkle especially well in his compositions.
I enjoy playing parts of The Nutcracker every year either in a solo harp setting or with different ensembles, but playing the whole Nutcracker with a ballet and orchestra is of course the most fun. However, this year things are a bit different, so I decided to record this video to bring some of that Christmas sparkle to you.
"Waltz of the Flowers" and "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" are especially magical movements from the ballet, and I really hope you enjoy my short arrangement of them!
