@@metroid393 ya here it is 33°44'59"N 112°10'56"W this is the start of this trail. There are 2 trails…. the thin trail that hugs the mountain to the SW is the double black diamond……i believe on strava it is called big rock trail

@@DownHillDAD Thanks! I hadn’t ventured far enough out. I had only found the jump lines on the south east side of pyramid peak. I’ll be checking out that area again in a few weeks.

This fell over from lack of water…….we had absolutely no rain this past summer. There’s a bunch of saguaros that are on the verge of falling over. Crazy hu

There is a noticeable difference between the 2 but I wouldn’t disagree with ya…..believe me i hear them all and i can tell you what’s what and only a rattlesnake rattle will make me grab a handful of brakes.

Nah that’s deffo a rattler you can hear the inconsistency in its rattling something those bugs don’t have because the sound is made the exact same every time. Rattle snakes failed work like individual segments banging off eachother with a hollow inside to make the sound. It’s very distinct

It’s definitely unmistakable when its in front of you

If you’re there in person it won’t. I actually just had one outside my house and I thought it was either a pipe bursting or cicadas. But it was so loud and rapid, I went to check it out. The sound went away and when I went to go look, I suddenly heard the sound again. I went to turn to that direction and caught glimpse of something moving at the tree line. It was a rattle snake and I promptly retreated back to the inside of my house. When you’re in proximity, you can tell the difference.
