I wish I had discovered Caterina Valente when I was young. It might have impelled me to take piano and guitar lessons, plus more voice lessons in college. Caterina hit on ten cylinders every time she performed. At age 68 I am being refreshed by her artistry and vitality as I endeavor to improve my vocal styling.

At 2:52 her scatting shifts into high gear. What a range of expression and intonation.

it's a testament to their combined talent that they can make such a thin and unusual combination of voice, guitar and trumpet work so well. i find it surprising that the single, slow trumpet line for the first minute or so was effective. bravo. BTW, never heard this one before, thanks!.

Caterina Valente ist einfach einmalig. Ich gönne ihr ihren Ruhestand von Herzen, aber ich vermisse sie unendlich ^-^. Glücklicherweise taucht ja immer noch einmal ein Goodie aus der Vergangenheit auf.
