Can you send me those print files please? Thank you.
Those RTR Porsche's are really sweet! Nice layout great video! Race on!
Can you provide a link to that chip?
you can find them on EBAY... search for Slottechnik www.ebay.com/itm/114444519432?chn=ps LEB hobbies carries it www.lebhobbies.com/decoder-chips-c-496/ftslottechnik-scd2022-carrera-155v-digital-decoder-chip-p-10775.html great traditions, slot car corner, and professor motor also carries them now. i ordered most of mine direct from germany (before the other US sites started carrying them regularly) www.ft-slottechnik.de/decoder.html
@@slotrods6430thank you
man i like your man cave!
Some nice cars, but personally, i prefer the older saloon type cars .Carrera seems to just repaint the same shells every year with a sprinkle of new cars. Nascars, for example . Im hopeful they might do some more F1 cars in the future 😊Greetings from Latvia....Harry
Can I possibly get the files to do the print? Thanks!
Did you ever hear back from Frankenslot?
Good video, Slot Rods. Im going to and Share and recommend to subscribe. We are currently at the point where we are swapping axles NSR, Slot it and Slotting Plus and running PGT and aftermarket Guides. We have tried Piranha and Barracuda motors. But found the Amp draw shorts out the Standard Carrera CU with 6 Cars. It's really hard to go back once you have opened Pandoras box 😢😮😂 Im guessing from here we goto a variable power supply or stick to Stock motors. 🤔 Glad I found your video again and will re visit your content. Ty. 😊
Hi, nice track. Did you make the anti-collision strip for your lane changers?
hello! and no, I didnt make them, but I did install them! ha. The are called Lane Gates, made by a company called digital racing solutions. they are 20 bucks a chip and you can find them here www.carreraslots.com/slot-car/30345LG.html or at a few other places like LEB hobbies and some others. just install them and then follow instructions where they talk about creating a detection zone. I usually use like a 1/3 section of track prior to the lane changer to create the detection zone. also, I make sure I have a power tap between lane changers. so if you have say, 4 lane changers on your track, you should have at least 4 power taps. run track power from start to first gate. 1 power tap between changer 1 and 2. 2nd power tap between changer 2 and 3. 3rd power tap between changer 3 and 4, then id put a power tap after the last changer. its not difficult at all.
@@slotrods6430 oh, thank you for the info.
Way to go bud. That was a decent amount of work, dedication and patience. It worked out cause that car looks way better. Congrats 🎉🎉
Thank you for the nice video! I am in the Midwest and would like to buy your number 99 green Porsche that is seen in the video around the 12 minute mark. Let me know please, thank you
Sorry :) thats a prized car. They are indeed hard to find and expensive when you do. Id suggest watching Ebay. Thats where I got mine. Might take some time and a good bit of cash, but thats your best bet.
@@slotrods6430 Oh well, thanks for the response!
@@user-jx3jp3gb4x 30908 is the car part number
@@slotrods6430 I did find it but thank you, please let me know if you find one, I have looked everywhere and can't find it even though it is discontinued, somebody has to have one. I will keep looking though :)
If there is a pit sensor at the first pit entry, why do you need another sensor at the second switch?
Looks great!🎉
Nice haul. I'm really digging the scalextric rally cars.
Really like that ford Puma and the c8r repsol.
Do the capris have the e200 motor?
Nice Ty for the real-life pics. I can't wait for the Manthay 911, although they are saying it will only be released in November.
Incredible cars!
The best way to control the nsr and other performance cars without using magnets is tires and reducing the voltage. I believe you can do this in the Carrera race management. You get much less damage when you do this plus it’s more challenging to drive. Nice layout.
Good stuff bud ,nice track an lovely build on that car ! Greetings Portsmouth England 🏴
Great layout! Subbed
I have this one also that was a birthday gift. Here is some footage of the full scale car. th-cam.com/video/chmstlLL5u4/w-d-xo.html
so the winner was?
Just subbed, didnt realize I haddent. You were one of my original channels to watch when I started in the hobby. Must of been on my other account. Either way, I ordered mags from your suggestions. Thanks for that.
how are you pianting the wood vs plastic?
everything in the magnetic racing kits are wood. and I generally spray paint the pieces individually or use an airbrush. The 3d printed stuff hasnt been painted (save for a very minor few things that was done with miniatures paint). almost all of the color in the 3d prints are just from using multiple colors of filament during the printing process.
I have the 3.18 version. You have to make sure the carrera controllers are not the programmed the same number. I run 2 frankenslot, 2 true speed and 2 regular carrera wireless. Been running it for 6 months. Had that issue when my carrera wireless was still programmed to the same controller number.
that was the first thing I made sure of.. reprogrammed them first. when the new carrera wireless come out this year i'll get a set of those and see how that goes, since they will have a new wireless dongle
@@slotrods6430weird. Wonder whats still interfering with yours. I’ve been using mine for months and only had issues when i first hooked them up. I just took the battery out of the one carrera wireless didn’t need it anymore. I still use 2 wireless carrera with my 2 frankenslot.
I have both these cars as well and they do perform well... never thought of changing the front tires. Maybe that where the 20115s will work better! Thanks man.
actually no, you dont want to change the fronts out. just give them a sand to true them a bit, so the front rides smooth and doesn't bounce from an uneven tire. You want as little friction up front as possible. On the full rebuilds I do, I put zero friction tires up front.
They look awesome. Nice video
Thanks 👍
Nice layout
Nice work, love your car collection 👌 subscribed
Can you add the links to what you printed please
just added the stuff I downloaded to print up in the description. still looking for the car lift.
Great job. I love to pit lane automation. I just cover up the sensors on the ghost cars cheep be but it works.
3D printing was created for slot car tracks. HA HA
actually, using the regular pit lane for the entry, the ghost cars wont use it.
Awesum layout and detailed explanations...very much appreciated. Ive been collecting sets since 10yrs old, now 65yrs young kept it for my 4 sons. Thx for sharing the complete layout info to duplicate it for them Thank you.
Great collection, ive only got back into the hobby after 25 years .In November I bought a Carrera set and am slowly progressing from there . Greetings from Northern Europe...Harry
Nice layout bud how do you get your wife to agree to not having a living room I know I'm assuming another here
Great video. Do like your work and your track design. What are the dimensions and if possible a list of track pieces and where they go so I can reproduce it . I’ll understand if I’m asking too much .
It's like removing the magnets from an F1 car, then putting it on a rally track. Why?
No matter how much you explain it, no magnets means slower runs. Period. magnets or not, your still going to have to slow for turns, common sense, but no magnets means your tail end usually breaks loose, and I don't see GT world racing "drifting" on purpose. If you want realistic racing...magnets, if you want chaos,... take them out.
Great track, very well done video!
Love the smoking rear tyres at the start of the track test and the "Technical Difficulties" sign when the car deslots. Awesome use of differing camera angles during the shooting of the video. Much more interesting than being limited to one camera angle for the whole of the track tests of the cars. Pretty reasonable lap times as well. Would be interesting to know how fast it would be with a 3D printed chassis with motor pod under the body.
Nice car.
Great video, loved the camera angles as the car was going around!
What tires are you using? Make and size thanks.
I get them from www.carreraslots.com/ Paul Gage 20125LMXD those fit a lot of the carrera cars. and in most cases where they say to use the 20115LMXD, you can often use the 20125's... just sand the inside edge of the tire where it might be rubbing on the frame. That extra mm of width is worth it for the grip.
What version is it ? Frankenslot controller is yours ? So glad you updated the technical on this I will wait to hear from you on the word from them ! All I have are the wireless Carrera controllers, and my youngest granddaughters have a bit on trouble with the thumb action . Great bunch of cars you’ve added to the conversation pile !!
yes its mine. Its the latest version.. part number for it is F88964 . Yeah ive never been a fan of the thumb control. I will post an update if I ever hear back from Frankenslot. JASpeed has been quick to respond to my emails, and they have forwarded the issue on to Frankenslot. JASpeed is puzzled by the interference with the carrera controllers, having never heard of the issue before. (though its known to have issues around other 2.4ghz wireless stuff) . But I tested things for over a week and the only way I could get reliable use out of it was to take the carrera controllers out of their cradle, and put them behind me.
@@slotrods6430 Thank you for the update. Gee I hope my Bluetooth hearing aids don’t interfere.? Lol
Great info!! What do you need from me to get the file you talked about
loook down under the RagTop-Pat comments. there is a link to the files there
Thank you for another helpful video … on you Carrera rims have you ever tried the trick of filling in the divots in the rim with superglue, and then sanding it down to help quiet the Car on the track as it runs ??
I havnt tried that actually. but to be honest, with the time involved trying to fill those divots and all that... id probably rather just buy some NSR wheels and replace them haha. My cars seem quiet enough, so it hasnt been something ive thought much about.
@@slotrods6430 I under stand I’ve been want to change some of my rims all so but the tracks I’ve recently started racing at don’t allow you to change the rims only the tires. Is there anyway I can get the file so I can print some of those decals on my printer I’m not any good at arranging them to print. I’ve wasted a ton of paper which I’d rather have them on the photo paper anyway that until I can get a file that would work correctly.
@@RagTop-Pat Im working on that. I think i'll have to upload them to like google drive and then post a link. ill post when I get that sorted
@@slotrods6430 really appreciate that immensely.
Oh and thank you for the info on where to get the clear track barriers and clips
