An Alaskan Wedding
October 1st, 2022 Logan and Rachael Piercefield tied the knot with close family and friends. The wedding was hosted at Rachael's parent's house in June Lake Airpark. Logan flew his airplane (Piper PA-12 Super Cub) in from Anchorage the morning of the wedding. We hope you enjoyed our own little Alaskan Bush Pilot Wedding.

Emergency Landing - Loss of Primary Flight Controls

Primary flight control failure, emergency landing on a gravel bar. On August 3rd, 2022 I had rudder failure while practicing landings on a gravel bar. This was a precautionary landing on a gravel bar. The NTSB has been notified of the incident. Have a PA-12? Seen another video where they showed some pictures of the airframe after the accident, surprisingly it didn’t sustain a terrible amount of damage, I wouldn’t be surprised to she her fly again.

Thank you Justin, was definitely a wild feeling. Not many failed rudder landings out there, this is the only one on a gravel-bar I've heard of. Definitely something I hope to never repeat.

We’ve been to Whittier. I believe it was early October two or three years ago. it’s beautiful back in there and worth the trip. Unique place but it does have a different kind of vibe. So, an exploding boat…not a real surprise, I gotta say.

Your videos of the countryside are the real star of your channel. I think you would get more viewers if you slowed down the video as your transverse the rivers and mountains and added a running commentary about what your viewer is seeing, like you when you pointed out the glacier at the lake.
Indeed, I see what you mean. We're still trying to figure out how much flying is too much, in order to also appeal to the not-so-interested in flying portion of the viewers. I will take your advice and try something more along those lines here in the near future. Thank you!!

Thank you J W, much appreciated! Yes, indeed I'd love to get shoulder harnesses back there, it's definitely on the list. Along with some helmets, an AV-30, PA-18 extended gear, and skis. Hopefully I'll get to some of these mods during the winter.

That was a great video, thanks. You know I put an AV-30 in my plane and you should check it out. You get a lot for the money. I was up there about ten years ago and yes, the glaciers were bigger back then.
