This is a description. I should put something worthwhile here, but I won't.
Hurrrr.

Dorothy replica from the 1996 movie Twister
Here she is! A few things to change eventually, but... I'm still amazed to see this in my driveway, haha. A Dorothy from the movie Twister!
Dorothy II, based loosely on one specific Dorothy. There were 6 to 8 Dorothy's made for the movie, and the way I tell them apart is the weld line on the barrel. This one is based mostly on the one that has the weld line through the D in Dorothy. My 1995 Ram 2500 V10 4x4 and this Dorothy are meant to represent the Ram's first chase after the Jeep is dropped.
If anyone wants to build a Dorothy, no matter the accuracy, please contact me! I'll share anything and everything needed to build one of these. As an autistic individual, I was 5 when I first saw Twister, and it became my hyperfixation. This is 10+ years of research made real. I'm living my childhood dream - and I'd love to help others experience this too.
Here's the features:
As accurate as possible
Lights, sound system, on-board battery
Gauges lining the top of the barrel read battery level
Detachable solar panel inside sensor tray
Mechanical lid opening mechanism
Sound system controls on buttom bus connector box, one button to play the score, one button for the siren, a kill button and a on/off switch
Accurate vintage parts, reproductions where needed
Custom drop in tray that rests on sensor tray, custom tray used for ice and beverages

Brief little snippet of Twister that I recreated in SFM. This was more of me goofing off and testing things than a serious attempt.
1996 Dodge Ram 2500 "The Paxtonmobile" Twister replica
มุมมอง 70K7 ปีที่แล้ว
Quick little video of my main project, The Paxtonmobile ( ThePaxtonmobile/) It's a replica of the Dodge Ram from the movie Twister. The movie used several 1995 Dodge Ram's, whereas mine is a 1996, but it's all correct, except I have yet to install the sliding rear window, and the cab lights are aftermarket. My truck is a 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 V10 4x4 SLT. Dorothy V was made using meas...
First reactions to an Ascend, and Crystal Focus

Crystal Focus V.6 with CEX. Ascend from Genesis Custom Sabers. Rob really makes dreams come true. This is my first Crystal Focus lightsaber, and my first Ascend. To give some backstory, I've been in the lightsaber scene since about 2006 I believe. Back then, Crystal Focus soundboards were RARE. Really rare. They were released in limited batches, and sold out in minutes, if not seconds. And the ...

How did you get the hair? Is that your hair or a piece?
I spy an original V10 Ram.... I like what I see.🌪️Made me smile today seeing this after nearly 28 years that film came out. Legendary truck. ~ Actual storm chaser / NWS trained spotter.

HOW COME NO ONE NOTICES THE LICENSE PLATE IS MEANT TO BE PAXTON!?!
How do I get myself that car
I’m looking to build this exact replica for my soon to be done j10. How can I get in contact.
One day I'll make my own Dorothy and I'll have my own 90s red Ram truck to go with it! This was really cool to see.
How on earth did u get a terzo mask did u make it?
I have a question why was the truck in the film badged as a 3500 instead of a 2500
So freaking awesome
I love this so much! Thank you for sharing!!! 🌪️ - SG
Did you have a spec sheet to work from?
Yep! If you look up 'The Paxtonmobile' on FB, you'll find my build page/behind the scenes collection. I keep my decade-long research for Dorothy there in an album.
@@Mel.Roswellthank you!
Just imagine Hearing that When there’s a storm 🫡 Rip bill paxton
How large is the frame in length width and height? Very awesome!
Hey man I know you posted this a while back but I'm curious how did you get the Mount for the cb antennas on the bed of ur truck? Plsss let me know I would rlly appreciate it 🙏🏾
I would pay a lot of money for this :D
Hey I’m looking at making one of these to go with my Ram pickup please let me know what kind of drum you used and where I could find one? Any help would be appreciated thanks!!
Back in 2019 November i saw this truck after leaving the dmv place it had Dorothy on the back ahh man i will never forget that day love from Kansas City

Yiu do it yet
Where or how did you get the decal that shows how she works. I’ve been trying to find one
I just borrowed the expanded score by Mark Mancina who did the music for the movie and I so WISH I had this to blow my music in!!! I can’t stop listening to it.
can u send me the size to the steel canister that u got? and if possible names of the items
Amazing work!!! What did you use to make the stainless container?? I would love to have one for myself!!
"Liability Only" 😁😂🤣. 🤘 Nice rig btw! 🤘
How did you get the siren?
How much did it cost to build Dorothy alone, excluding the cost of the truck?
All told, about $12,000.
@@Mel.Roswell Thanks, me and a friend are looking forward to making one ourselves.
Great work! I've been wanting to build a replica Dorothy since I first saw the movie when I was about 12. I'm glad you said you wanted to help others with what you learned building this one... I was a fabricator for a while and I still do blueprints/models occasionally, I'd be happy to take your information and start working on a 3D model and fabrication blueprints.
Dorothy is very nice
I'm really big into off-road community and I want to build this for the back of my mud truck. Do you have an idea for the dimensions and stuff building materials stuff like that I really really want to build this for the exact same reason you did as an ice chest /replica
Like what Peter said in that one episode of family, Guy The Duke boys would be proud more like Bill Paxton would be proud
How much did this cost? My dream is getting the 1995 beast and want to acquire Dorothy with it.
For how accurate I went... I spent over $30,000.
Still have my 95 red and silver club cab identical ram (no roof lights), 29 years old, and I chase local storms...nws spotter, but had the truck before the great movie. Movie truck was red on the bottom, mine is sliver like the video. Well, silver and rust...lol.
What kind of drum do you use to build Dorothy
What would the dimensions of her be mostly the yellow frame and the silver drum? I’m look in to making one and I can’t find a good scale online or the movie since none of the actors stand straight up or on level ground in the movie, it would be amazing if you could tell me. Thank you for you time
The finger of God
If you watch the movie closely many times it’s a 1500. The movie looks to have used the V10 as the hero truck. The 1500 as the stunt truck. I was working at Ontario Dodge in California. The Chrysler parts depot was around the block from us. One of the workers bought a 95 1500 from an auction. The truck had transmission issues. I got it on the lift and inspected the truck. There were all these brackets on the truck on the sides, rear and front of the truck. I also noticed it had the all the driveshafts replaced. The transmission had already been out of the truck for repairs. We all suspect the truck was a camera truck from the movie or a stunt truck as because of all the brackets and the repairs.
All the trucks were crushed after filming due to Dodge's insurance liability clause - that's straight from the movie crew that I've talked to. They did use a few 1500's, but 2500's were also used - including one that was badged 3500, which was a prototype truck Dodge gave the production. There was a Cummins used as well, but they changed out the engine after it was found to be too loud.
@@Mel.Roswell Excellent info! As a fellow HUGE fan of this movie (moreso a long dodge ram commerical in my eyes), I've always wanted to get to the bottom of how/why the one truck had a 3500 emblem given that it was a SRW truck. Not sure if you can clarify but I do feel that the introductory scenes of the movie where the dodge ram had the camper shell on it was in fact the prototype you speak of and it had the V10. During some of the later scenes you can tell that a V8 was used. (The tach on V8's redline at 5000, while V10's redlined at 4500.) One could also hear the difference... V10's carry a unique sound. Some of the trucks sat differently throughout the movie too, some were noticeably taller (these probably had the v10's and the one that was originally a Cummins) Anyhow, I love your project! I'm still looking for a good candidate truck to build my paxtonmobile. Hopefully they do a good job with the new "Twisters" movie that they're filming right now.
Dorothy never had the meters on her
She did! If you're talking about the little amp meters along the top of the barrel.
"....and inside, she holds 100s of these sensors....."
Which go up in the tornado simultaneously
Plot twist, Dorothy was Bil Paxton's actual car alarm.
Now put this in a tornado
I would pay big money to have a Dorothy!
If you drive this straight into a tornado the fuckin Dominator will pull over and let you by.
Amazing
You got full coverage on that truck?
take care torando away
My inner child is smiling 😊 dang the 90s where the best memory lane
This is epic! 😮 How did you find the Muskogee State College logo? That would make a rad t-shirt.
I'm in awe
