You got lucky with that bow man, PLEASE DO NOT DRY FIRE COMPOUND BOWS. The injury you got is incredibly minor compared to what could have happened. That bow is who knows how old and compromised. If the string or one of the cams has an issue you could end up with an arm full of fiberglass and a team of nurses digging fibers out of you.
