I see you don't just go to him, you move around him.

I love this. Just when you think the horse is going to walk away from you, he does a circle around you. It shows how teaching when the horse is calm and relaxed causes him to really learn something that can bring him back from fear to connecting with the human again. Please keep filming your training sessions 😊

The horse is approaching me in a zigzag pattern. He does this so that he can see me out of each eye (his eyes are on the side of his head). To show him that I understand him, I copy his approach but accentuate it. In the 2nd part of the video, he has just been scared by something and ran away. I am helping him understand that I am not a threat by avoiding approaching him directly. Normally hunting animals approach in a direct line, and prey animals zigzag or go back a bit before they forward.

I love that you chose bitless<-? Also, why the staggered walking towards the horse? I think I may know but not really. If that makes sense to you.
