With almost a 100k followers on TikTok and Instagram, Dalo Monnier (26) already managed to reach quite an audience for himself. Dalo didn’t live an easy life, and that’s an understatement, but music always helped him survive. After taking a whole year off for his mental health Dalo worked together with producer Rens Koppe on his personal sound and wrote/co-produced his newest songs. A full album, ‘one of my proudest achievements’ Dalo stated himself.
As cliche it might sound, music was always part of Dalo's DNA. As a little boy of 9 years old Dalo was already mixing songs on his computer, shortly after that Dalo started making his own beats and started writing his own music. It was at that time Dalo already realized that one thing was certain, he wanted to become a big artist.
Dalo Monnier: "Music means literally everything to me. It’s where I can go if I need to escape from everyone and everything. The second I start making music I fade into a different reality and it’s almost as if time doesn’t exist anymore, because I get so lost in the process. This is just simply who I am, because I am made for this.
It’s not just music that Dalo excels in. Over the years Dalo built several successful businesses as an entrepreneur in sales and marketing. In the year of 2021, Dalo started facing some serious mental health problems that led him to take a very big break from his business, social life and rising fame on social media. There was just one thing that even his mental health problems couldn’t stop him from doing, music.
Dalo Monnier: ”In the end, all I want to do is travel the world and inspire millions of people to really make the best of their lives. I’ve seen many people reach rock bottom and only a handful truly make it out of that place, thankfully I am one of those. I want people to know that they’re not alone and there are so many more people out there dealing with similar pain that you have to go through. So many more people that are hurt, broken and lost their path. I’m here for the quiet people that don’t speak out loud but are screaming from inside. Mental health is a serious thing. I will do everything I can to help as many human beings as I can.”
Despite all that, Dalo states that he doesn’t only write songs from his own experiences…
Dalo Monnier: “I love writing songs about my feelings and my deep messages to the world, but I also love to just create stories and scenarios and write songs about that. As a child I already stayed inside on lunch break from school to write little random stories (for a little while I even thought I wanted to become a writer and write my own books, haha) well, I guess I have a bit of both worlds now.”
To him, his songs mostly just have to be ‘catchy’ and that’s exactly where he stands out from the rest. Most of Dalo’s music is full of little catchy melodies that get stuck in your head.
Dalo Monnier: “I’ve had 16 years to master and perfectionate my craft. I feel like I’m truly ready now. It’s time to share my art with the rest of the world. I’ve always dreamed of being a big artist, but I realize now that every fan I reach is already a win for me. Every heart touched through my music is already a dream achieved.”
