A great turnout and a good number of spectators too Up here in Whitley Bay, the tradition is to swim (well, splash about really) on New Year's Day. This year, there were probably about 200 brave souls who also 'enjoyed' the cold North Sea. I wanted to join them, but I had forgotten my towel .. and anyway I was busy filming them. Thank you for uploading this...loved BRMB Radio,wished the station was still on air! Hope you can dig out some more BRMB Programmes,including more of Les Ross! Hearing this has brought back some wonderful memories of a fantastic Radio station that should never have closed down. Boom Radio is a fantastic station & has both Diddy David Hamilton weekday lunchtimes and Les Ross 10am Sundays,but BRMB was even better than Boom Radio! So miss the station,they need to bring it back again just the same as it used to be. It would be hugely popular again,& also bring back the Walkathon round the outer circle route.

Great video Chris & may I say your costume was excellent. I was gentleman outside the Union dressed as the Joker with my lovely family. It was our first experience of St Ives at New Year, absolutely loved & am planning my outfit for next year. Great to meet you on the night, have a safe & happy 2023, cheers👍😉
